Sorted thanks mate - kind of. Dealer workshop did a work around which is ok. Only change is that it wont start with the side stand down and a warning light (cant recall which one and the bike isn't here just now to check) is on permanently. In essence, (as I understand it in layman's terms) we've bypassed the ECU and gone direct to the starter motor. Oddly a change to a borrowed ECU from another bike didn't resolve it
