British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Just out of interest, when there have been past GEs have many people on here had politicians knocking on their doors canvassing ?

A lot of discussion on the radio this evening about why it’s difficult having an election in the winter, and I was thinking I can’t remember the last time a politician ‘canvassed’ in our area at least.

  4. Lived in the same town 67 years, same house 35 years and never seen a canvasser, would love them to come knocking though.

  5. I've had it a couple of times but not many, it's bollocks Alan and nothing but excuses.

Many of the politicians are spineless, people will have different views as to who they are but there's plenty of them that need clearing out.

    The election does that

  6. Would seem to me that if I want to know who I’m voting for it’s up to me to find out about the candidates, perhaps there’s nothing wrong in that.

  7. Notwithstanding the requirement of a "qualified majority", I understand that currently, it is the minority whose wishes are honoured now in the new, improved politics.

  8. Just like we found out about what Remain and Leave the EU actually meant you mean - cool

  9. That’s it exactly.

They don’t canvass, we don’t know what we’re voting for, they do what they like anyway.

  10. My mp has a very safe seat, it's been a Conservative seat since 1950, perhaps they are a bit complacent and don't do much canvassing.

  11. i'v got a big yes stone with a coo on it next to my front door. I don't get bothered by canvassers

  12. This must be a different election than usual then. Some of the worst ones have been in the Asylum for ages. Heres a few that spring to mind in no particular order.

    IDS CON since '92/ arsehole
Theresa May CON since '97/ waste of space
Angela Eagle LAB since '92/ terrible
Frank Field LAB & IND since '79/ wanker
Mike Gapes LAB & IND since '92/ apalling
Chris Chope CON since '83/ blocking everything he can for decades
Mark Francois CON only since 2010 / but really...
Keith Vaz LAB since '87 / FFS
Chris (Failing) Grayling CON / only since 2001 but the country simply can't afford him!

Still you might be right and these and others may get the boot. I hope so.

  13. I really hope so too

  14. Don't forget Soubry, waster.

  16. Did they convince you to vote for them ?

  17. Nope

  18. That’ll be why they don’t bother then, if we’re not going to listen

  19. Oh I listened, but that doesn't mean that it was worth hearing.

Just because someone knocks my door doesn't mean they get the vote Alan, oh no no no, I'm looking for that sparkle, that X Factor, that perfect pirouette finished with jazz hands
