How long will it take to produce new Electoral Rolls if the franchise is extended to include children and foreign nationals? Would that prevent an election before 2020?
Did you watch those behind in the shadow cabinet thinking, if he wins, yay, if he loses I want his job. I was looking at thornberry, Mcdonnell, bailey and starmer. Poor old diane was looking around as though she was expecting an ice cream van to turn up thinking she was in the queue
Ok, I am lazy so just going to ask here How does it work in most other countries - Is it only the people that are 'nationals' that are allowed to vote, or is it any one living in that country. I know I risk being called *insert prefered insult here* but, why should other Eu nationals be allowed to vote in the UK election, and then what about other nationals, from outside the Eu ?
I think it is meant for EU workers who aren't strictly resident, i.e. haven't gone through a process of settled status. If you migrate to the UK as a permanent resident you can vote regardless of where yo are originally from - they let Loz vote apparently
Thanks, to me it makes look like 'we will have as much chance of a 'remain' government as we possibly can' Sorry, but it just makes me think parliament will do anything to get what they want.
Yeah, they let me vote, and they make sure that my postal ballot form arrives after each election, etc. *rolleyes*
it might be worth pointing out that yer man thinks its bonkers going for a GE right now. he wants it in spring next year.

"He got a majority of 30 for his deal in principle last week," says Mr Clarke. He suggests that if the House had used the past week to continue working on the bill "we would have been well on our way to agreeing a deal in time for mid-November".
He also voted not to have an extension beyond 31st march which delayed Brexit, no extension and we would have been out.
True though very fickle as he voted against that "deal", then said we "absolutely need a deal" then said "we're leaving with or without a deal". Can't believe a word he says. changes his mind every five minutes.
I think so, maybe in response to preventing no deal option & there not being any ammendments allowed? Thats not the case now though.

I think the SNP and Lib Dims are now saying only if voting age gets reduced to 16. If parliament agree to that what's next ? Perhaps Corbyns' exciting new secret ambitious and radical campaign plan has scared them
