Not to everyones taste but I admire you for having a go, as fig says the white is just too much and a pin stripe could be just what it needs. Steve
Tom, I think you need to wrap the back of the tank as well, it looks a bit odd with just the sides done.
some good tutorial vids on you tube. i was going to wrap my HM in satin black but changed my mind to go full carbon panels insted.
If you take the panels off you can use a product called Plasti Dip to spay up every individual piece. Sprays on and peels off, better than vinyl wrap as its a lot quicker and easier to cover the difficult bits. Protects whats underneath pretty well too.
I think I'm going to pick up a set of eBay fairings to be honest. I saw abmatt's today and they were much higher quality than I had expected. Still it was fun to do and I have yet another skill I can kind of do but not very well. I'll check that plastic dip out too.
Vehicle vinyl wrap appears to look great when first done, but some of it is affected by heat (sunshine, engine etc etc) and it can go a bit saggy..........but worst of all, most manufacturers of the various products reckon the stuff has roughly a 12 year life when applied internally, but only 4 years when applied externally......... ........a helluva lot of work for four years looking pretty, I think. Check for international shipping costs before you click Buy, there is a UK company that sells these (I'm sure others will help with a link, I can't remember the name), and it may be cheaper to buy from a UK company. As for a red tank, you could always wrap it...
This place says free shipping worldwide. It's only around £350 for the set, depending if I get stung on import duty. I think it would be hard to match the colour with a wrap. I will probably be better off with a respray. I'd imagine that's around the cost of a new tank any way.
A tank respray won't cost you much. As for the fairings, I think the UK company were selling at about £450 (still can't remember the company, sorry), so just check on the import duty. I've never been charged more than £15 duty from the states, but I've never ordered anything this bulky before.
That's them. I'm sure there are more than one person here who has used them, and were happy with the outcome. Depends on the price really.
How much are the original fairings worth? As a set. They're not in the best condition but there are no cracks etc. Couple of hundred quid?
If you're prepared to pay £350-450 for some fairings why not go see a body shop and get a quote for spraying yours if you did all the prep work?
I checked out dream machine before for a different bike and they wanted £1000 for a full respray. After seeing your fairings at the weekend I think the best way would be to buy some new ones from motocc.
