Pressure Sensor!

  1. Hi All,

Just taken delivery of new (to me) 2013 plate diavel strada and I fitted zard exhaust and battery trickle charger cable.

Not been out on it yet ( cos its raining) but have started it twice. now I've got this big reg warning saying pressure sensor!

its not been ran for months this year, would a run help it or is it time to replace the sensors?

any help would be great thanks!

  2. The Air Mass Sensor is a known weakness on the earlier bikes. There are 2 fitted in the air box and it's a pain in the arse to change them as you have to remove the petrol tank to get at the air box. Andy

  4. Yep, that's about right. Andy

  5. Hi Andy

did you fix it yourself? if so how much were the 2 sensors?

    thanks
    Steve

  6. It was done during a major service so no biggy. However, I have recently removed the petrol tank on more than one occasion and it’s a llloooonnggg job. Even knowing what I was doing, I’d say 5 to 6 hours, start to finish. Doable but a real pain. Both the air grills, both the metal side panels, both the infill panels and the lower dash need to be removed before you can get the fuel tank cover off. The tank has 2 bolts at the front which when removed, allows the tank to pivot up from the seat end which exposes the 2 quick release fuel connections and the electric plug for the pump and fuel sender which need to be disconnected before the tank can be removed. That then allows you access to the air box. The 2 sensors take a couple if minutes to change. Can’t remember the cost if the sensors but not pounds cheap, more tens of pounds expensive. Andy

  7. thanks Andy,

    found this video (in French)

  8. I've heard that you can change one without taking anything off, but not 100% convinced.

  9. :joy: Andy

  10. £75 each from Ducati, easy job once the tank is out of the way!

  11. thanks foz,

its not done it since i have fitted the aftermarket exhaust so I'm hoping it was that that triggered the error message.

  12. I had the same issue with an intermittent red pressure sensor warning on my ride out a week ago on my Diavel. Bike ran rougher below 4k and backfired a bit more than usual. Diagnosed one open circuit air pressure sensor and other one playing up. Changed both sensors (£164 for both delivered).
The bike was never the smoothest before the fault code on the dash showed up but it is now so much smoother at below 4k. Guessing that one of the sensors was not working fully before the light came on last week.

  13. Sensors are about 80 quid if I remember rightly ... had mine done at Pro Twins
