I've been trying to game theory Farage's decision not to run as an MP but I keep coming up with the same answer. I'd be more confident of my calculations if I could factor in the expenses that MEPs can claim without any public oversight whatsoever, compared to published MP expenses.
Unlikely to become pm, likely to have influential votes to offer for those labour voters who have been left behind by labour but would never vote tory, by fact, we saw that in the 2019 euro mep elections where labour only gained 10
It would suit the eu to have Farrage out of the european parliament, I pressume he's decided to stay and keep an eye on the crafty buggers till we actually leave?
Stands to reason she will be a Brexit party MP candidate. She has been a party member of the Tories, Lib/Dem and recently stood for ChangeUK. There is a clear path to follow. She is ramping up her aims, and going to more and more basket case & right leaning groups. Besides if she fails, Annunziata Rees-Mogg will be on hand!
I saw Farage not standing as he doesn’t want to leave the Eu either really. perhaps he likes Brussels after all.
Like I say, I cannot come up with an explanation that covers everything - unless he is a charlatan and was just gaming the system all along? How can you become a politician, only to be a charlatan who games the system? It's unthinkable!
Not sure. Let's ask a surrender monkey his opinion. Jez, is Farage a surrender monkey? Generalise much?
You are so linear Jez, I despair sometimes. True story. My work colleague, Angry, likes Brussels sprouts. And as a matter of fact, I would prefer a PM who is afraid to stand, to one that is ready, willing and able. Only people who don't want power should be allowed to take up positions of power ; o )
Could be! Could be! Could be! I suggest *dragged, kicking and screaming*. Or maybe get GCHQ to apply some "pressure"?
I wonder how many people now won't vote for the Brexit Party, now that Porridge isn't going to stand. As an amateur psychic, I forecast another hung Parliament with Corbyn as token PM, who will give way for McDonnell.
