Not playing with numbers, that is the fact of the matter and what you get with first past the post voting. Sounds like you could be an advocate of PR?
Sorry, I've just noticed that you've linked to the Greens for this referendum thing...... surely a Green vote is a protest against the SNP trying to drag scotland out of the union against the will of the majority of Scots?
You are trying to twist my words. I didn't say that the SNP are forgotten, I said the fact that they are the 3rd largest party in the HoC is generally forgotten
the greens suport indi. there are only two scottish partys in holyrood. the other three are registerd in london. they are branch officies.
My point is that you can dress numbers to suit your message. 35 seats out of 650 is only 5% Where as 298 seats is nearly 46% or nine times more.... The SNP take way more than 5% of parliaments time as do their supporters on here. Just playing with numbers.... I didn't say you are wrong... but just playing with numbers, like I have here.
Why does it matter where the party is registered? Surely the MP voted for in each area represents the people that won them that seat? Very isolationist view there!
Because being the 3rd largest party they should not be consistently ignored, as they have been, by the current government. Many people in Scotland see this as a snub which only goes to increase the determination for independence..
I asked this before and none of the usual candidates replied to it, how do you think the snp are being ignored? It's seen as a snub because it is manipulated into an apparent one by the snp to bolster their cry for indipendence
In the U.K., Scotland has 59 mp posts, is one of 4 countries and in a nation of 66 million In the e.u. Scotland will only be allowed 14 meps, will be one of 28 countries in a block of 530 million How do you think that will increase your voice and how long do you think it would be before joanna Cherry will be taking the eu to court saying bwwahhhhh, it's not fair ?
Can someone from the SNP sympathetic part of this thread please make sure its registered with the CAA? Drones have to be registered from today.....
General election: Swinson says Tories and Labour 'merge into one' on Brexit http://news.sky.com/story/general-e...-and-labour-merge-into-one-on-brexit-11854739 How will cancelling Brexit generate 50Bn ?
If that genuinely was the case fin, why would they need 750 mep's? Then using your own argument on your own devolved government In Scotland as we stand, the devolved government stands at 63 for the snp 31 for Scottish tories 24 for Scottish labour Applying your own analogy in westminster to the devolved government, shouldn't labour despite being third, have as equal rights as the snp who came first. If no because the snp got more seats, then viola, that is the situation in the U.K. parliament and with less representation in europe, would be even more so. The snp use representational figures when it suits them to claim victim one minute because their numbers are small, whilst demanding they are in charge in the devolved government because they are the largest party people can and have continued to see through this flip flop standard
why would MEP's from accross the EU with similar values and similar aims elected by people with similar aims and values want to form alliances? are you for real? in a Parliment elected by a PR system specificaly designed to avoid majority Govs every party gets a fair crack at developing Gov policy.
