So what have you done today..?

  1. Never a nice subject to discuss but well said PB. For the sake of all those left behind the sensible thing is to have it all planned, organised and paid for before departing. I know my Mum’s done just that, my Dad hasn’t and probably won’t, and SWMBO and I are part way there.

  2. Had a shitty hour. Met my buddy who was operated on for colon cancer a few weeks ago, they told him nothing is ever 99% but they thought it was all in the colon and they thought they had got it all out. Yesterday he gets a call and can he come in, they think there is more than they first thought and it is outside the colon now. He goes up, they explain it, so now bloods and every liquid test just to see if it is there are maybe something else.

On his way home from this last night, his dad, elderly chap, says your mums in hospital and they are telling us she might not make it. They are proper cockneys and proper old folk, the type who say it's alright, it's just something, it will pass. She was coughing up black sick. Apparently she has a blockage in her gut that has caused her stomach to swell substantially to a point that another day it would have burst inside her. They took her in and have given her 20% of making it through.

He's such a positive chap though and his anger today is aimed at his brand new iphone 11 that ee set up saying off you go buddy it's ready to rock and roll but most of the morning has only been showing reconnecting?

  3. Sorry to hear that noobie - ^ that's not one of those irritating "Itunes" enrolment problems is it? - happened to me on a new 5 and took 3 days to sort out and a ******* trip to Kingston shop.

  4. Dunno, I think it was having the data transfer where they try and put the old iphone next to the new one then tried to save everything and transfer it over via bluetooth, both had low batteries so I told him to go home, plug them both into the mains and side by side and give it half hour also having a wifi from the house hub will see it work better but it's the timing of having a phone play up at a time of need.

  7. Poor fella, hope he and his Mam are going to be ok, horrible getting news like that and there ain't much you can do, i was half through the Gizmo post yesterday when my Bro in Law phone me and said after two invasive biopsies they detected prostate cancer my sister is beside herself let alone how he must be feeling. Being 200 miles apart i feel useless i just wanted to give him a reassuring manhug but i couldn't.

Talking with others on here helps i am sure, politics apart we all have good hearts.

  11. Continuing to sort through boxes from my late sister's house. Dug into one of those collapsible plastic crates and sorted through a load of Hornby OO gauge track and stuff. Looked at Hornby's web site and it cost about £800 new, it was never used, just unboxed and chucked into the crate waiting for the big layout she never built. Not a lover of eBay but this might be my first foray as a seller. Andy

  12. I feel for you PB - I lost my brother in law around this time last year from throat cancer.

Look into GcMaf - it's the protein that our bodies make that would normally kill cancer cells. Also look in to GcMaf and David Noakes / Lyn Thyer. They were producing it until they were shut down by the MHRA and sent to prison. Lyn Thyer was extradited on false charges and is on hunger strike in a French jail awaiting a trial (even though they didn't operate in France at all). There are still places you can get GcMAf...and some say you can produce it from raw milk (I think).
I tried to get my sis and her husband to look into it, but they couldn't see past their highly paid specialists who just prescribed stronger and stronger chemo. Chemo ruins the immune system - nothing is ever healed without a functioning immune system. Good luck!

  13. Cleaned up all the stripped fork then went for a walk before the rain set in, nice to see a couple of water voles in a local stream.

  15. Today I had a productive day in the shed. I,
    - removed the tyres from the wheels of the DucatDoodlePug,
    - stripped the wheels back to bare metal for repainting - a bit more to do tomorrow,
    - cleaned the rust off the DucatDoodlePug’s exhaust,
    - sprayed the exhaust with VHT paint - more coats tomorrow,
    - removed the clutch cover off the M1100S to see why it was SO noisy compared to the 748 - feck me, that hadn’t been off since the factory put it on! I’ve never seen so much clutch dust in there, it was at least 3mm thick! All clean now though and reassembled, but after 10 years and 30,000 km it needs a new clutch & basket:(.
    - checked the price of the above, hmmm , pricy.
    - decided it’ll have to wait for a bit so reassembled everything just in case there’s a fine day ahead.
    - removed the seat off the 748, removed all the fittings & seat pads and started to sort out the scratches caused when Storm Ophelia blew her over.
    :upyeah:
