I did see Scottishness on channel 4 news last week, might still be on their catchup doo dah. two topics, one was the increasing drug deaths in irvine and the other funnily enough was from oban about the protected parts of the sea and illegal drag floor netting, had a chap called glennister? whose boat was identified as the possible culprit and is big in fishing in your area?
I'd say generally it's all bad, mainly seem to be trying to make whoever they are talking about or interviewing look bad. I know that's how MSM work now, but would be good if there was some reporting that was just along the lines of 'this is what the xxxx party are planning to do' and let me make my mind up. There was an interview with Diane Abbot on radio 4 this morning, can't put my finger on it but it seemed set-up, kind of aggressive questions that were relatively easy for her to give a good answer to.
This post was seemingly misunderstood by some, the electioneering has already turned into a melting pot of crap and mudslinging by all sides - a lot of which is being used on here for so called ‘debate’. Personally I am not party to promoting this crap on here or elsewhere as it is crass stupidity. I would suggest this utter rubbish from any side of this emotive and political argument isn’t used here, when people promoting it know themselves it isn’t true.
aye, irvin and that part of the coast has never recovered since the 70/80's. pretty run down in parts. the boat thing dosent surprise me. i know plenty of skippers due to the nature of the units around me, some wont be happy untill they have totaly decimated the sea bed.
mate, i hear yah. mostlly because when we where pointing out media issues 5 years ago i remember quite clearly the responces from many. it took brexit for those doing the chastising to see what we where talking about.
And yet people like @noobie who complain about the BBC over BREXIT somehow think it’s whiter than white Over Scexit. @noobie fishing and drugs are both matters reserved to Westminster
If Mogg made an apology which was a genuine apology, and not try to diminish the full meaning of his remarks then he would be forgiven and everyone would move on. Maybe he should learn from the labour candidate standing in Uxbridge ? sadly, he is trying to hide behind excuses instead of owning up to it a weak man
It was something to do with the protected seas around the muscle fields? Apparently they are only allowed to have free divers collect them by hand in order to protect the sea bed an environment but some crafty rascals in the dark of night have been using trawlers with drag nets leaving the sea bed looking like raw sand in a building yard and all the things you would expect to find, completely stripped
yip, they have been distroying reefs and nursery areas. i say they, but it is probably a few greedy skippers and boat owners. i did come under our controle and there was a hulabalu going on. not sure if it is now that we have had the power grab.
General election 2019: Labour's deputy leader Tom Watson stands down https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50325666 Looking good for my ‘none of the above’ option, by default at this rate there’ll be no one to vote for.
