I went from: Multi 1200 2011 (local dealer declined trade in, so...) BMW S1000XR (with which I found how easily i’d lose my licence...) GS1200 (which was accomplished, but never set my heart alight) Supersport 939 (which keeps me happy at the moment) I’d contemplate another early Multi 1200 as a second bike, as prices are now at that level. With Öhlins SCU, full Termi system...(but i’d need somewhere to store it :-(((
I went to pick up my BMW GS, whilst waiting for them to fit the new battery, I took a 2015 1200s multi out for test, when I got back to the showroom, I told them not to bother with the BMW and immediately purchased the multi, its an amazing bike.
LOL... sorry but no....there isnt a KTM on the planet that can be described as pretty...whilst the Multi has a face only a mother could love.....every KTM is well...Chunk from the Goonies.. fact

I'd agree. I wanted something that I could use all year round without really caring about ... plus MrsH's pillion-preference and bit of off-road capability was a pre-req for me. I ended-up with one of the early CRF1000 Africa Twins. There are loads available on the used market now, at very good prices. Give one a go. You might like it.
If I was getting a "adventure" style bike just to ride in the winter I'd get a Triumph Tiger. The 1050 is a peach of an engine and the 800 now has all the bells and whistles.
Depends what you're used to, if it's a certain German adventure touring bike then fork-dive (or lack of) is an inherent part of its character.
Agreed I went from MTS to K1600 to RT1200LE. And back to two MTS (PP 1200 DVT then PP 1260). The only thing that I missed from the BMW’s is the brakes
What did you think of the PP? I've a 2017 DVT and common sense tells me that I don't need a 1260 Enduro or a 1260 / 1200 DVT PP... lizard brain says different.
you mean like owning a BMW GSA for 10 years and about 40k miles ? TBH once the front pre-load was set up I dont notice the fork dive on the multi any more than the slightly engineered in version on the GSA
Love the Ohlins and for me, the torsion gives a fantastic feel that makes it well worth forsaking the skyhook which I tried a few times over various periods. I’m sure others who have skyhook won’t agree for a mixture of reasons
