Assuming this will be of interest to most of us so a quick review: Film starts with Ken Miles (Christian Bale) showing us what a great driver he is and winning races but failing to make a living out of it. He’s friends with Carol Shelby (Matt Damon) however who has just won Le Mans. I’m guessing that most of us know the basic story of Ford versus Ferrari which bizarrely for non-American audiences has been renamed Le Mans ‘66. Film seemed pretty true to real life events for me, great to see the Shelby & Lee Iacocca roles, both men produced amazing looking performance Mustangs in later years. A little bit of Hollywood drama but not much, the plot sticks well to the action & the corporate politics for the most part & if you loved Rush, you’ll love this. Fantastic cars throughout too, well worth a watch fellow petrol heads
Hope you enjoy it, I won’t give any opinion that might affect anyone who doesn’t know the story line. Christian Bale was outstanding for me. I just said to a mate that there is one standalone part that was the best for me but again, I won’t mention it.
I know a man with two of these... he worked on the design at Slough, numbers 5 and 7 I believe. If you though Elsie was mad, this guy is on a new level. He's as mad as a brush and has a collection of over 20 of these from mainly from New York. And two rooms full of these... I reset my case that you can never have TOO much money.
Agreed, but distributed wisely this inturn will increase your penthouse panoramic corridors for improved expression in life, but remember one thing when you get to the pearly gates ......you've to leave it at the desk.
Just Wikipedia it and read the finish and post-race section.Question is did the Ford management screw up or was it a deliberate move on driver positions.
Possible spoiler follows in the unlikely event that anyone here doesn’t know the story: The general belief is that it was a deliberate move by the suits & one man in particular as the film portrays. McLaren should’ve refused the win imo but in those days I guess you did what you were told
Agreed, unfortunately the paymasters hold all the cards everytime out when playing on their terrafirma and that means there are winners & losers in the history books.
Absolutely brilliant film....one of, if not the best film ive seen this year. Cant wait for it to get released. One of the best lines in the film..."Thats Deiter Voss...he runs Porsche." - "i thought we both felt the same way about the Germans....."
