Ladies and Gents, After some agonising, I went and bought a keeper after selling my 999s. The plan was to buy something more sedentary (following an accident off a horse some years back and a back break!), a Multistrada or something more upright...but I just could not do it...yet. So here it is (enclosed). A 2008 1098r with 1.9k miles from Piza in Italy. Did the deal on a blustery Saturday am last in Holyhead (Wales). The bike came up on a trailer from Italy and I came over o the slow boat so we both suffered. It cost me circa €4k less then I would have to pay in Ireland and my only problem now is doing the paperwork for vehicle registration tax (VRT). The Irish government won't issue a new plate untill al the paperwork from Italy is...translated
Congrats! Welcome to the 'R' club  Get yourself a Quick Action Throttle and the 70mm full system to release the horses and thunder, and the 1098R turns into a fiery demon - an iron fist in a velvet glove
just look at that old goat salivating behind the glass ,he's positively drooling down his feckin chops at the thought of owning such a desirable beast. Dribbling he is .!
Correct.... And just because it won't quite be barking enough, fit some DP race cams and 60mm bellmouths (huge throttle body things). You will not be disappointed! Get down to Mondello Park ASAP..... You'll be a braver man than me to leather that bad boy along Irish roads.... Enjoy!
You should be able to contact Ducati UK for help with getting English versions of the paperwork. Worth a try! [email protected]
