As 2020 riders. https://www.motogp.com/en/news/2019/11/18/alex-marquez-announced-at-repsol-honda-for-2020/319950
His own brother intimated in an interview over the weekend that he’s not ready for a factory Honda. Smacks of the worst case of nepotism. Truly hope he falls flat on his face and is routinely beaten by Cal and Taka and Zarco, if he gets a GP ride next year. Andy
seems odd as i think the only reason honda would take on alex would be on marcs say so, he hardly set the world on fire in moto 2. in fact he was dam lucky binder had such a shit bike at the start of the season..
one word was that miller would go to factory, petrux back to pramac? dont know if there has been an update on this..
Talk of it keeping Marc happy so he renews his contract, all about keeping the Marques family on side, stinks if you ask me all the talk of Honda being politically correct about contracts, they will always honour Lorenzo's contract and they dont like the fact that Zarco walked out on his KTM contract yet they must have brought Alex out of his vds contract, double standards and a lot of contracts in the post.
they wernt too nice to pedrosa either... openly making noises about replacing him whilst he was still in pretty good form, think that was the beginning of him losing his motivation...
How quickly we forget. Honda broke, sorry, rewrote the rules when MM won Moto2. Up until that time all Moto2 riders graduating to MotoGP were required by Dorna to join a satellite team but it would seem if Honda says jump, Dorna ask how high. Nepotism and greed clearly bed fellows. Andy
Is there a better Spanish rider who could play no 2 to Marc in MGP? Not sure there is, and that is no 1 condition for that team it seems.
Some in the lorenzo thread mentioned this might happen. I suspect it's more about keeping MM at honda than anything else
thats a vary good shout i think... might telly with mm not seeming too keen on his bro steeping up and it happening anyway...
Dissapointed with that news to be honest. Reeks of nepotism all day long. But I’ll be happy to stand corrected if AM can get in about his brother and give us some good racing.
