You'd like to think Al that your mp's are of a higher standard so that they can serve you better. trouble is these days is degrees seem to be far easier to get and some you can even buy but the problem has always been, being an intellectual does not always equate to intelligence. We've seen dumbing down in parliament in the last 5 or 6 years. Sometimes you look in and it looks like the outside of the school gates where johnny and freddy have had a fight and the parents decided to carry it on there as well. Parliamentry standards have dropped, how they address each other courtiously has dropped, some now are just like fish wifes when their husbands come home without any money, or the wife of blokes from 2 sides on the terraces. I'd prefer an educated mp to a non educated one but I'd also appreciate a wordsmith, like Mogg who can politely, and with a smile, who could call you a festering turd of humanity in such a way that you thank him for it, instead of some of the louts we have in there at the moment who think they entered a working mans club from the 70's
I see where you are coming from, but I do think more politicians with ‘real world’ experience (if you see what I mean) would possibly be a good thing.
think of it as a club Al. obviously Corbyn has thrown a spanner in the works but it is an old boys network. who your parents are, where you studied and who you are introduced to. who you have impressed and have funded you and your party.
I do see what you mean. Of the many newer ones coming in they seem to have gone college, uni, think tank then politics. A more grounded and real life experienced person would help. Career politicians seem to envelope themselves in the westminster bubble
This man ^^^ is a wordsmith? Surely not. Have you forgotten his Grenfell interview already. This man is part of the problem in UK politics. Not a man of the people, just a privileged buffoon who cares not for the average person.
I thought Corbyn was Grammar School / Uni / never had a real job, am I wrong ? personally I’d like to think that if say a Chef turned to politics he would appeal to more as a ‘man of the people’.
It might sound silly, but following a few ‘leading’ politicians on Twitter, if I were to base my vote on that - I would vote for Nicola Sturgeon.
a person of the people wont be tolerated. to appeal they have to get passed the owners of the media first. only Blairites and torys need apply.
I’m not reading all that. My summary from scan reading would be, Posh tw@t, f@cked off abroad after uni and got angry about everything. Not really a man of the people either.
This still makes me chuckle every time I read it Returning to the UK in 1971, he worked as an official for the National Union of Tailors and Garment Workers.[29] Corbyn began a course in Trade Union Studies at North London Polytechnic but left after a year without a degree after a series of arguments with his tutors over the curriculum.[30] It's like most of his time in parliament against his own party
Nige interviewed about Tory corruption! Not looking too good for Blojob. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...m-tories-bribed-brexit-party-candidates-video The MET are now understood to be investigating https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...ate-claims-tories-every-level-tried-persuade/ https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/to...investigation-into-general-election-1-6378983
Why jez, it's almost as though you are lining up the excuses for when Labour loses? Crutchlow isn't doing your pr is he?
He just wants to argue with anyone and everyone, just not Dianne Abbott, perhaps he doesn't see her as fair game
Meanwhile, there will be a tv debate broadcast in Scotland where two minority parties will be arguing the toss about whatever they think is relevant to the country it is being broadcast in.
