British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. you after my manhood ?

  2. Depends if those registered then proceeded to cast votes they also didn't know about I guess

  3. Depends who uses the ballot papers to vote in Plymouth and whether the students are expecting to vote at home instead!

  4. Does the students inclusion on the Plymouth electoral roll remove them from their home town listing?

  5. No, but they are only permitted to vote at one location.
Why would someone want to register students for another location rather than their choice.
It could be to “do them a favour in case they are too busy to register for themselves”, but it could also to be a cynical attempt to acquire five hundred voting cards so they can be used fraudulently?

  8. So its a glass half full (favor) or half empty (fraud).

Is there any history of the council in question being done or accused of massive fraud?

  10. I find it astonishing that someone can register another person to vote without there permission or knowledge, never mind 850.

  11. yes but once found you going be squealing like a Stuck pig.

  12. It all needs a thorough update. I'd like to see an id card system at the polling station to prevent fraud, but a big effort would need to be made to ensure everyone entitled to vote got their voter id card (or whatever the system needed).

    Roll on internet voting.

  14. Plymouth CC said

"We are writing to these young people to let them know that they will need to complete an Invitation to Register in order to be placed on the register in time for them to vote on 12 December 2019. We have also updated the system so no ineligible young people are left on the register."

So a stupid mistake (again) but resolved.

  15. I thought voter id cards were suggested by Tories and labour said that'd reduce voter participation and harm smaller ethnic groups?

  16. I believe they said it would be id cards through the back door and would be an intrusion into peoples human rights

  17. You might be correct.

I can only suppose Labour had some qualms as to how the revised system was to be implemented. It would require a great deal of effort to ensure no eligible voters were excluded. Looking at how the government cannot work out who immigrated to the country 40 years ago on the Windrush highlights the difficulties.
