Well, I hate plumbing. 3hrs of tightening up mixer joints then undoing as both hot & cold feeds keep dripping. Meh. New shower/olives blah blah. Plastic pipes are crap. PTFE may make an appearance. Still got 2 leaks from bathroom to floor below Side of bath off, no leak there but half of Jewsons has been dumped under my bath
Is one of your feeds leaking at the elbow where it comes out of the floor? If so water would run back down the pipe, through the hole and drip off onto the ceiling below at the elbow under the floor, thus it'd be hard to spot. Get some toilet tissue, wrap it around the elbows so that it fills the hole in the floorboards then see if it's wet after you've used the shower/bath.
Ta. Leak re shower, is from the ends you see in picture. Fitted new shower mixer and they leak from the new unions that have new olives on. Will investigate further. As for my 2 main leaks, looks like floor up time or go from underneath. My bathroom is above my lounge.
It is a simple job plumbing, but always seems to go wrong I always get my Gas Safe Plumber mate, as he knows what he is doing, comes straight round when needed and doesn't charge me anything. Let that be a lesson, always have a good mate who is a plumber. He'll be buying the first round tonight too. (He does ignore all phone calls and texts from customers btw - just for El T's information)
I’ve got two builders on speed dial but they’re not plumb trained. Strange that this weekend they’re both busy Gas also covered. PTFE tape & joint sealant seems to have sorted it (for now). Next year I’ll take the tiles off. Build up a proper frame and re tile. As for now, my shower mixer is held on with 2 screws. Only one goes through a tile. There’s nothing behind the tile. It’s all gouged out p/board from the muppet that put the first mixer in; the arse.
No washers in the unions, just curved machines sockets that the pipes go into that are part of the body of the mixer. Olives on the plastic pipe and threaded sleeve nut over that that compressed olives into unit. (From how I read the instructions).
got on harris performance website looking for a footpeg and gearpeg for the 748 rearsets i bought 5 years ago, they were the last of some old stock and they dont make em any more. but they do have the pegs as the use em on other sets! and cheap too.. happy days!!!! other than that i have done zero..
I'm a gas safe monkey. changed the belts and cam cover gaskets on the most manky oily dirt covered 749 engine today for my mate. Can't complain he set Pi-hole up for me, I'd done most of it apart from the router dns.
Now my HR has returned to normal, had a 3 hr nap. Tiring this sitting down doing nothing. tomorrow I’m off to premier budget bikes in Swindon, have a look at some classic 80’s metal
