So, are you a real biker who has stories to tell of japes while watching Hailwood rip the island a new one or plastic biker who hasn’t a clue what biking really is... Isle of Man TT for those of the disposition to need clarity...not Manx...not for a weekend in the winter...TT time
Nope, but been to IOM plenty for other japes. TT has never really appealed enough to make the effort.
I use to regularly do a circuit of the Isle of Wight back in the late 1960's early on a Sunday morning ( only real spare time back in the day ) on a BSA 350 1956 Gold Star in cafe race trim what a bitching ride that was.
Hardly a real acid test is it? What about "Ridden bikes since you were a toddler and NEVER been without one or two or three or four"... That would be a real biker. Now if the question was Q Are you a real street racer fanatic?, then the pole would be valid.
I nod at people on scooters ... not randomly , only when im riding so what would i know .... ill get that free pizza one day youll see
Hopefully one day but not yet. If I remember Mike the Bike last raced the TT in '79? Same year as Bazzer won the Transatlantic race at Oulton Park - I was there.
thanks Nelson, it was a dream come true having all the Island's roads to yourself for a good hour flat out lying on tank aiming the bike between the rev / speedo with everything a blur from the vibrations. Down side was getting a bollicking from the old chap for spewing oil down the drive ha ha.
I remember the fast straight on Military road... I camped a few times in the layby just before it in the late 70's.
Cool, that would have been between Freshwater and Compton Bay ? Close to a big "s" bend, wrong side of the road and everything scraping.
I saw Barry live, classic racing mind. I’ve also been to the TT, so I’m a real, real biker but...... I own a f###### GS Adventure so that makes me a real, real twat!!!! I’m off.....
