Fancy a look at this..https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/274098139490 but some of the other stuff they have too like gsxr 750 l I’ve always fancied.
Don't you just love those racing colours.i've only ever been on one gsxr750 a loan bike from Dobles back in the day & the gearbox was sublime.
Walked around the nec and was disappointed with all the silly aero wings on the Ducs ! They look tacky to me but a good day all told !
Had a drive down. They have 2 shops, all stacked with bikes, worth a visit! But also all rammed in tight so you can openly really see from the front. They had a lovely gsxr 750, 1996 in lucky colours. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/274058270177 Asked the lad to pull the ex up out, he says ‘do it yourself if you like’ so a few iterations of ‘are you sure, its very tight, would want to damage...’ I pull it out. The mat I couldn’t see flips the stand up and...yes...I caught it just as it landed on the bike next to it!! But tbh it was a bit of a dog really, with cracks or breaks on most panels. They did have a sad looking RG400 and a KR1S sat outside in the rain...looked perfect for a renovation job
This morning I spent 2.5 hours digging borders in the back garden and replanting 3 trees/bushes. I’m now watching the mighty Boro beating Hull City by 2-0. How long that’ll last God* knows *other deities/invisible friends are available
And they’ve equalised. I said it at the start of the season when they appointed Woodgate as manager but they’ll be in division one next season. Fact.
Go gsxr, useable classic that handles. Had last of the Srads, quick too. Fzr1000, handles like a tank, seat a plank. Fast though, power comes in and the world just goes backwards. ( so it seemed in 1998 anyway!! ) Just reclaimed the man cave today. Ride on mower now on trailer. De cluttered. Plenty space again. Bike already to roll at a moments notice, though was a cold ride out on Wednesday to Argentat sur Dordogne. I might wait for a warmer day. Lucky here though as the roads are not covered in salt.
Considering how many bikes the people on this forum have had, an awful lot have had gixxers and an awful lot would have one again
Finally got around to dragging the 748 out to give it a clean.. While I was on my lil euro trip, my mate who I had kindly let use a corner of my workshop for his woodwork hobby, ( he has a scroll saw and makes lil figures) decided to set up shop and make some windows.. all would have been cool but he didn't have any covers for my bikes and just covered them in fine red saw dust... but according to him It was ok coz he hovered the bikes after... obviously he no longer has a corner in my workshop.. Anyhu, gave her a good ol clean and even took the head lights out and cleaned the inside of the glass! Piss of peace...
My bud works for selco and gives me lots of tee shirts... I use em to clean the bike then use em for work...
The 750 makes a seriously good choice. From Srad to late versions. Mine was a late US spec fuel injected job, on a W plate. plenty quick, if a bit thirsty. Though I suspect fuel consumption was down to me and not the bike. One of the best 95 miles I have done from full to warning light coming on, a bit of a hoon around North Yorkshire
Nice lie in, picked my bike up at Donington back from Portimao, then just cleaned the car. Waste of time really but had a few hours to kill before the footy and it was ditched so seemed like a good idea.
