Depending on your view I would say the snp's case for indi is so poor that it was like shooting fish in a barrel and so he was able to throw a wide net quite easily Corbyn is very robotic and clearly not the power behind the wannabee throne sitter. He's too wooden, there is clearly someone doing the heaving lifting for him. He seems to be unable to go beyond three or four subjects and it is almost impossible to imagine him on the world stage as our leader. I can see him as a local mp and little more. It's not just his opponents that notice he seems to support those who wish us harm and he's slow to stand up for the country he seems to want to represent.

The tories are going win with a clear, but small majority. Brexit will happen ..... then we are going to have 36 months of hell going through the details. The SNP and DUP will continue to take up a disproportionate amount of Westminster time. Boris will sack more of his own and have to fight at least one leadership contest. None of the money or police or nurses will happen. We will have a lot more old people and less young people (including this forum and thread) By the time we get to December 2024 everyone will be pissed off with the Tories and labour will win, but it won't be Corbyn. you spent time writing that AirCon. and I agree. there is always a but. no time has been spent in Westminster on Scotland. or wales for that matter. not even by labour, even tho there has been a labour surge wales. I guess they're just gonna have to go through it for another term. they are getting what they wanted. they will get there. Part of me thinks that Scotland should have a level of self governance and I think it does. If you think of the UK as areas rather than historic countries then it makes sense to have regional management of regional issues. Then you have other general stuff like strategic planning, taxation, defense, law, standards, immigration, power generation/distribution, health and environmental protection. ...which benefits from being centrally controlled / funded. If I recall one of your concerns is over controlling more areas and receiving more money. It is that balance that is perceived to be wrong? Westminster doesn't care or doesn't see Scottish needs and Wants? What I cannot see is a land boarder between Scotland and England, not in my lifetime. If you think Brexit has created issues, wait until INDY2 gets a 52% yes and 48% no.... years more of debate and wasted time/opportunities. Parliament is broken, our system isn't working for enough of its people. We need to work on getting it fixed. A third of the UK want to leave and now "hate" the EU, a third want to stay and love the EU, the rest either are sure or have given up caring. It's a total mess. Cameron let the genie out of the bottle and it won't go back in. Ps my experience from outside the UK is that we are seen as a joke, turned into a banana Republic who has no real leaders, idea where we are going or control.
Hypothetically, with Ac's prediction probably not being far from the likely outcome over the next 5 years, who would take over Labour and be a genuine viable leader? Unfortunately i don't see Corbyn as a PM, and so if he were to go presumably that'd clear out some of his team who are equally polarising. Those such as Abbott, McDonnell, Mcdonald, Thornberry and a few more. Some of the existing shadow would survive I'm sure, and maybe Momentum would have slightly less grip on the party. What about Starmer? He was encouraged to stand for the leadership back in 2015 after Miliband but didn't want to as he felt he needed more political experience (according to wiki), would he get anyones vote? With his background in Law he can seemingly hold his own in interviews and doesn't tend to get rattled. And who knows, by the time that comes around maybe he'd have figured out how not to look in pain in every photo, or that he's left the cooker on and is massively concerned about it I don't think anyone is really happy with the two main choices they have this time around, Im certainly not, but we really need to move on from this initial Brexit stage and rightly or wrongly i think that will be the deciding factor for most with Labour now being remain and Tories being leave.
What stands out from above is that Labour isn't seen as the main party for remain, the Libreal democrates are! Labor is correctly portrayed, by MSM, as the party of more dither and delay. well, I suppose I should appreciate your honestly at least. and from that I guess the answer to my question was, yes, you feel the Scotland gets to much time and too much influence over the future direction of the UK. this is an example of one nation conservatism. I don't think I have ever seen a better example of it. thinking in areas rather than a family of nations. the brexiteer has real issues of shared sovereignty over approx 10% of legislation mostly over trade and even with a veto, its still too much. compare and contrast. we give half our earnings and have about 85% of our legislation made for us in a parliament we cant out vote. ever. in one hand you are saying the system is broke, the country is a joke (outside of your bubble its been this way since for ever). the SNP is a symptom of Westminster, we put them their. but on the other hand you offer no solutions and double down on the one nation rhetoric.
