  4. You should still hang around for the craic. Just coz the UK's leaving the EU and you're moving to the EU doesn't mean you'll need BoJo's permission to frequent here, it's still a free & democratic world ....... in parts.

  9. I had one from 1982 to 1984, roughly. I sold it for about £2700 to help fund a new house. It staggers me how the prices have gone through the roof. I took mine to the Bol one year when it was at the Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France. Anyone else used to go? It was a riot. One night, we were gathered round the fire drinking wine and eating bread and cheese (as you do) when I must of got a pine needle stuck in my throat. Went to a campsite entrance to ask for medical help and the next thing I know is they get an ambulance and take me to the circuit medical centre. In it there are a couple of racers who have had offs and are seriously f*(ked up. They remove my pine needle with some medical instrument and throw me out. I am by the pits in a special pass area at the Bol in the middle of he night. This was the same year hat Honda Britain entered with Ron Haslem, Joey Dunlop, and I can't remember the third rider. Thy were fast but I think that they blew up the bike. Roger Marshall was the third rider, I think.
Most of the French came from Paris and they always insisted that the motorway was toll free on the way home. It wasn't. Everybody just used to wait for some sucker to put in a coin and the barrier would go up to let one guy through but about fifty french would all pile through before he barrier closed. Mad days. I remember a mate getting done for speeding somewhere in France. He didn't have the cash for the on the spot fine. No problem as the cops took him to the nearest cashpoint! I doubt that the money got back to the government!

  10. Sounds like a good trip Perry, your dates made me think of what i was doing around 82/84 and then it came to me, 83 leaving school :), this one for sale looks like its in very good condition.
The french are still jumping the toll had one drive under the barrier behind me this year driving back from Spain.

  11. On one Bol trip the sprag clutch on the starter stopped working. So the only way to start the bike was to bump it! I needed somebody to push me as I couldn't do it on my own. The compression was so great that the back wheel would just skid without turning the engine over - I had to be sat on the bike with my weight on the back wheel. Oxford Motorcycle Engineers was the place that I took it to, or it could of been Tony Brancato at Brancato Engineering. I guess that both have gone now :-(

  13. All vehicles that have damage repaired as part of an insurance claim or reported to an insurer whether damage is repaired or not, are recorded on a register. When a vendor states the vehicle has been HPI clear, that is one of things that is checked. Andy

  14. They wont be open the register if not written off.
