There are a few extra holes in the fairing which were used by a previous owner for non-standard fairing mounts. Now the fairing mounts are restored to the correct parts, so the holes are left until I get around the filling them. The screws don't do anything - they are just better than holes, and the spare screws in them might come in handy one day. And it's not quite immaculate enough. May have to get the tank, seat, and fairing refinished, perhaps next winter.
That is a version of the normal plate. The rear brake caliper is mounted on that plate - Ducati part number is 080 180 050.
I haven't seen that version. I was working on an MHR last week, also with the one piece fairing but it had the normal flat plate.
The plate is indeed completely flat @Derek . A reflection from the polished surface deceptively suggests a step. They usually have a triangular hole, but mine has round holes. The holes don't do anything, except save a negligible bit of weight.
My MHR is now finished at last, after a protracted engine & gearbox rebuild. Also fitted reinforced new rear mudguard, new footrests, front brake master cylinder, etc. Fairing just being fitted today. I plan to ride it on Saturday, weather permitting. Then the new bearings and bores will need running in, which I shall not be able to do until next spring.
