Hi guy's There's a possibility we will be suppliers for these hand made rear sub frames which are 5 Kg lighter than the original! Prices haven't been set yet but it looks to be under £1000 each. Your thoughts would be kindly received. CC
5 kgs is a lot... lightning the bike at the rear and so high up will have quit some effect.. what is it made off? titanium? how much does it weigh? ... the full carbon rear frames are at 1,5kg.. more pics please and please coat it black!
So long as you setup the suspension to compensate the drop in weight of the rear you should be fine. I believe it's alloy not ti otherwise it'll be nearer £3k however I'm sure if you want it in ti it can be done. I will find out the difference in weight all I know is they have been able to save the 5kg over the original. I'm sure we can coat it black. Any other questions welcome.......
As mentioned the price hasn't been finalised. I'm hoping to be able to RRP around £700-£800 just depends on availability and production time as they are all hand built.
TE=final_edition;147547]Yours are at a correct price, £7-800 is a piss take IMO.[/QUOTE] Excactly why I was asking your opinion guy's. What would you say is a reasonable price? Regards
Thanks for letting us know, we were introduced to them a couple of days ago so nothing is finalised yet. The response here has been great which is why I wanted your feedback as it's valuable to us. If their on ebay at £300 then it's a no brainer really. Thanks guys CC
I think the kit suffers badly from not being sexy.. same endeavours for all trelly bikes were much closer to the original look. this one is going to be close to dead ugly when compared to the original one. it has no bling appeal. this will kill the aftermarket bling market. And looking at the racing circuit, noone seems to carry any. Even Alstare carries the standard one.. the subframe everyone is waiting for is a 900 £ full carbon one. But at this moment, to my knowledge, there are hardly any being sold as the manufacturors are hesitant in giving answerts to 'how heavy can the rider be' questions... alright for 70kg guys/galls but what for 100kg riders? Everywhere i asked i got the response that they 'could eventually strengthen' the existing one, giving no timeline or price at all.. never heard back from them.. The same as to swingarms, this is a piece that cannnot break or the manufacturor will be liable big time..
I am going to lose more weight than ANY of you people. I am going on a diet and go from being a fat person to being just a person sized person. It is my belief that this will cost a negative amount of money and give the maximum amount of weight transfer to the correct places. My own bike will resolutely remain the way Ducati designed it because I'm pretty sure their computer designs are better than the bloke in the fabricating shop's and that they have both tested them better and spent many orders of magnitude more wonga developing the thing to fulfil it's function too. Of course, I could be mistaken.....
Person weight moves around on a bike. Bike weight doesn't. Less mass = easier manoeuvrability if no other gains are made. Sure losing a load of weight helps accelerate faster, I know personally how much, but doesn't mean bike can stay as is. Plus what else would we spend our money on? There's only so much fuel you can buy
well, to get in a bit of shape to handle the beast, i just lost 10KG's .... won't be able to keep the nose down now ! lol..
