Thanks That says it all really ...... explains a multitude of things . I suppose that soon we will all be paying our premiums to Hypermegaglobalinsurance'R'Us.com As an alternative , we could just hand the money directly to the police , courts , local councils , and of course , some for the private bailiff companies . Cut out the middleman ...
Just as an update, the bike is now entirely stripped. The yokes, frame, subframe, clutch casing and a few other bits have gone off for blasting and coating to freshen them up. I’ve also removed all bolts, nuts, washers, fixings and brackets to go away for blasting and zinc coating to freshen them all up. A set of 50mm Termis have been bought along with a 45-50mm link pipe. Ducabike rearsets (still need to work out how to configure these) Speed Carbon headlight bucket and fairing supports Speed Carbon air tubes Speed Carbon small battery tray MS Productions rear hugger & chain guard DP sprocket cover ATR Carbon upper airbox Black Roose hoses Metal QR fuel fittings All braided fuel lines Fuel filter Fuel sender with aluminium nut Ilmberger Carbon clutch cover New ducati clutch pack Ohlins steering damper Oberon fuel cap Ducabike clutch pressure plate Stainless steel clutch springs New Tecnosel seat pad from ProTwins Anodised collars Upper and lower airbox gaskets Wheels have been powder coated and fitted with Michelin Corsa Garage carbon fibre undertray with small catch tank Rear Ohlins shock was sent to MCT Suspension for a full service. This included new spring, new rod, new seals, recharged and set up to my weight I’ve also gone through the loom and reterminated any crappy connections with new terminals and plugs. There were quite a few! With the fairings needing some work, I decided to go with a full set of ‘02 748R fairings with the undertray from www.superbikebodywork.co.uk. Most of the kit fitted fine, apart from the top fairing which is distorted. I’ve spoken to the guys over there and seem to be getting nowhere fast with a replacement at the moment. Hopefully I’ll have the frame and bits back before Christmas and then I’ll update my other thread with a lot more detail and photos!
Thanks @Expat Jack ! I done a bit of a trial fit before I tore it down again, so really looking forward to the end product. The shed needs another clear out as my daughter has filled it back up with her dolls pram, Little Tykes car and dolls house, doh!
It's coming along nicely. If you find sitting down for long periods is a pain, something like this might help if you don't have one? https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cms2-height-adjustable-mechanics-seat/
Yeah the tank’s been repainted as that was a complete mess from the Insurance repair. Fancied a change of colour anyway, so all is good in the world. I’ll have the fairings painted before it goes on the road, as the finish isn’t ideal for what I want it for
I bought the bike in Yellow as it was a bargain at the time. I’ve still got the yellow fairing for if I ever decide to sell anyway, but for the time being I’m happy with red
