This is an awesome build, made even better by knowing it's going to get used properly when it's finished
on and on and on and on... must be boring you all by now but we go on .. this is what was done today: remove the leftside heat shield ( had to remove the subframe!) reroot the loom to make sure it won't burn on the cylinderhead.. install the Carbon subframe inserts remove the tank to install the MW/R race airfilter Pick up the brembo P2 34 billet rear caliper that got in from Italy!
Got told by my carbon man he couldn't deliver in time, nor could he give me a date. Grrrr.. With the painter standing by, had to find an alternative racing setup quick and finally went for Ilmberger. Ordered it and the fairing is already on it's way.Unfortunatly the tail unit won't come with it so had to find a VTR replacement to be able to finish the bike.. found it and everything is now in the mail and shoud go to the painter mid next week. carbon tail will follow later.. in the meantime : the rear brembo caliper went on and looks the part! so we move forward every day!
Kope999R, That's a fantastic build coming along there - most impressed. Quick note - where did you source that steering damper mount? I want to change my clip ons to something where I can change the bar position and need one of those as the steering damper currently mounts onto the bottom of the clip-on mount. What you have is perfect. Can you send me a link so I can get one please mate? Otherwise, I got mine back yesterday, so am starting the process of setup and will let you know how I get on. New map installed, new chassis setup/springs/valving/linkage change - but test ride yesterday was in driving wind and rain so hard to comment yet.....
Hi cham, ducabike has the sd holdr in both sizes for Fgr and fgrt forks I have a 53 mm left as the triple had one included. Really looking forward to your experience with the changed setup I welcome more input in this thread ..
Far from boring Raymond, very interesting to be honest. No doubt you'll keep going, as you can't stop now. ;0)
My mate with the 1098RS has just bought a Pani R, I'm expecting something similar from him ready to race soon
Thanks. Can't seem to find this on their site though - any chance of a link? Or if you have a spare one for the standard forks I would happily buy that from you if you send me a PM? I am swapping my clip ons out to Renthal ones which I run on the other bikes as I try to get a standard ride now. Also, wouldn't the mount be down on the fork tube below where it is chamfered, so it will be on the narrower diameter? Will stick a vernier caliper on it to check when I can get back home and check.

the ducabike links give no direct link to the product... it 's the map path to get to them... bit of an akward site, frankly.. bought through a dealer as their webshop does not work.
had to go and buy a VTR rear piece as the carbon one from Ilmberger will not be with the current delivery so it will have to do for the time being. fortunatly found one that will be painted in the same red but not fully numberboarded etc... i don't want to jeopardise riding.. and it will be a spare once the carbon one get's in..
just got in : the ilmberger race suit without the tailunit.. to be tried and tested tomorrow. the bellypan will let us install the termi's! the BBX pirelli 16'5 TCS unit is back so will be installed as well! hope the tank arrives tommorrow and then we're set for the run being able to ride the thing!
this is the one... i'm mistaken in thinking that the Ohlins need the 58MM ... that is for the Marzocchi! ... sorry , my mistake.. DUCABIKE SUPPORTO PER AMMORTIZZATORE STERZO IN ERGAL DUCATI 1199 PANIGALE NOVITA | eBay
Today big day ! the tank arrived and went o pick it up in holland. the ilmberger got in, including the belly pan. so now we could get it installed with the Termi EVO. As we're mixing different brands/makes of carbon , we had to see it fit . Also with the screen we got. Everyhing came together nicely so that was a relief. TOmorrow morning fitting the tank and then bringing it all to the painter! just heard that the Lighteck tank cap is on it's way as well, so uptill now no nasty surpises. that bike knocks my socks off everytime i see it.. this is going to be something !
