British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Why would you say that - I'm genuinely curious?

There has been some cases of electoral fraud, but AFAIK it is really minimal. There's a great deal of rumor though which is a different thing all together.

Now Tories (you?) alledge or imply Labour voter cheat with postal votes. So tell me why the Tories don't do something about it - its not like they haven't been in power for ten years... Then show some persuasive reasons why you think its happening. and therfore worth the cost and effort to investigate?

Don't misunderstand, I may vote differently to you, but I do not want fraudulent votes cast, so recruit a supporter for your cause with a good arguement.

I will say now, that I doubt you will have any concrete reasons beyond the tabloid press scare stories.

Wide scale voter fraud is a myth. Though I'm open to persuasion.

  4. Bedroom Tax (also known as under occupancy charge or the Spare Room Subsidy) is a change to Housing Benefit Entitlement that means you will receive less in housing benefit if you live in a housing association or council property that is deemed to have one or more spare bedrooms.

  5. Poll on here’s looking very healthy! Obviously not accurate cos we don’t all want free stuff on here but encouraging nonetheless :):upyeah:

  6. I don't claim housing benefit. How much tax will I have to pay on my spare bedrooms?

  7. so they are not taxed anything as you suggested they were, cool.

Let me help you describe it more accurately fin. If you are living in council or social housing and most or all of your rent is paid by housing benefit, they will only pay for the amount of rooms you are entitled too. If you have a property that is bigger than your needs, then they will not pay extra housing benefit for those extra to requirement rooms.

    it's very easy to understand

  9. there is a rape clause, you can claim for financial help on a third chilld if you can provide evidence it was concieved in an act of rape.
The UK government said it wanted to limit child tax credit to the first two children because it wanted "people on benefits to make the same choices as those supporting themselves solely through work".

    Exemptions to the changes were announced for those;

    • adopting children
    • those involved in kinship care
    • and for multiple births.
There was also an exception for a child born as a result of "non-consensual conception". This is the so-called 'rape clause'.

  10. ......So how much of this bedroom tax do I have to pay?

  11. are you claiming housing benifit?
do you want to spend the day arguing about semantics?

  12. No I’m not claiming benefits, I was thinking about taking them up, but if it’s going to cost me tax, I think I’ll give them a miss if it’s all the same. Lucky escape

Why would I want to argue over some 80’s band? That’s a bit of a strange question finderman. o_O

  13. There has never been a rape clause

Politicial opportunists saw the 2 cap free money and their first thought was ..hmmm how do we try and stop this? the first thing they came out with was, "what about a third child that was concieved by rape?"

The applicant only has to prove this by the most basic of ways by just talking to ...
The following people can complete the form to claim extra benefit or tax credits for a third or subsequent child conceived without your consent:

so there has always been support and without going through any court or conviction.

However when asking the same campaigners, how many have done this ? most will have no figures

It was a cynical political ploy by certain politicians to make themselves look good in areas of high dependency on state benefit and where some people were abusing the system getting £2k a month in benefits and more. It was and remains, more shameful than most political acts.

Easily identified by your own behaviour by ignoring the very same story that was a perfect example of the 2 child benefits cap and the abuses that led to it's need to be applied

  15. No, the 2 child cap for state financial assistance has some exemptions, a child born from rape is one of those exceptions, not a clause.

It only became a "clause" in name only because politicians who sought for their own agenda, decided to call it for shock value

just as a perspective, do you know how many claim child tax credits and how many of those claimed that exemption?

  16. You’re having a laugh........have you ever tried to sell something on here? ;) :p
