British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. A member of the Government doesn't have to be an MP
He can also take a seat with someone stepping down in a strong Cons seat and having a bye-election.

  2. So it's not like he has to stand up....forever?

  3. Indeed :bucktooth: isn't it exciting :p

  4. I guess it's kinda like musical chairs then?

If so then yes, exciting stuff ;)

  5. They would put him in the House of Lordies, and he would rule from there... Provided he gets a maj. If he loses his seat & the Tories don't win - Blojob might be looking a little awkward and permenently in the fridge.

  6. And they have spare chairs going?

    Sounds legit :upyeah:

  7. Plenty. Apparently lots of dead and dusty folks still sitting about wearing ermine (and claiming allowances) so a seat could be found.

  8. Oh that's good then, maybe he could give it a spring clean as it sounds fusty :)

I'm just trying to work out my Friday plan.

If it's Corbyn do I cancel my broadband now or roll my contract for another year

If it's Boris do I need something for tea tomorrow night or do we all get a Brexit pie

If it's Swinson do I gas myself in the garage or peel my skin off with a clothes peg

And if it's that little Scottish lady I'm wondering if you can wear base layers under kilts

  10. And the country has been suckered by a pathological liar and buffoon

This would be the best result for labour as they’d have to dump Corbyn. I really cannot understand why the Labour Party can’t see that he is the problem.

Looks like the SNP is going to increase its number of seats too.

  12. A tory with a massive majority would be likely to step down, cause a by election and boris would run for the seat and be back in parliament in weeks

The thing about an unwritten constitution however is that there is nothing written that says you have to be an mp to be in government. As mentioned earlier, a lord can be in government without being an mp. He can lose his seat, be appointed a lord, then get back into government through that route

it's all excitement of the moment and chuckles getting carried away though

  13. Wow, so our poll from October not a million miles away.

If... the exit poll is more or less correct then it’s goodbye EU.
The best thing will be to end the paralysis of the country. No matter what anyone voted today or in the referendum getting the country moving again can only be a good thing.

  14. If true, I suspect that will probably be the postal votes which tends to be elderly and tory. The votes at the polling booths might change that ?

  15. It does show that the feeling for Brexit hasn't diminished - in fact it appears to have grown significantly  but it's not over until the fat blonde fella sings...

  17. This a million times :upyeah:

Corbyn, McDonnell and the majority of the shadow cabinet need to go. Or the party needs to split and let momentum do their own thing, but labour needs to come in a little from far left
