Politicians in general seem to be the ones most against leaving so he may still face opposition to WTO Brexit. I’m waiting for someone to do the maths and prove how yesterday’s referendum proves that the people want to remain.
He’ll be ok. Someone will prove the results show that people want to remain. Is he still being crowd funded ?
Congratulations BoJo and the Conservative party. I hope that he and his party do now work to unite the country, to make a fairer society and invest in the areas like the nhs, policing, welfare and infrastructure etc as he promised he would. It will also be interesting to see how the Conservatives will cope and fare in the areas where they’ve never had an MP before. They undoubtedly owe these areas a huge debt of gratitude. If he can improve the country for my grandchildren’s future then I’ll be happy.
Just nicked offav Facebook “Johnson says he'll work "night and day", following his election victory. Maybe he's just referring to whether the fridge light is on or off...”
It’s been done already Alan. I was reading the news earlier (which for once makes great reading bye bye Jo Swinson and pretty soon bye bye Jeremy Corbyn) and the BBC pointed out that only 47% of those who voted voted for a pro Brexit party. Therefore 53% want to remain. Mark my words that will be brought up in the near future
I don't know if you saw his speech a few moments ago but he acknowledged many traditional labour voters voted tory and that their vote maybe just on loan for this one occasion and he thanked them but promised to not take them for granted. Whether you believe him or not, he at least acknowledged the honesty of the situation
Yes I saw it. Unless he helps those areas that helped him win this election then he will have squandered a huge opportunity for the future.
I'll be on amazon today looking to purchase a pair of christmas binoculars for JC to spot the blond bomb shell so far up the road in the distance on his throughbred donkey,he's needs to see where he screwed up.
I genuinely hope that things settle now and people can stop being so extreme. I get that people who wanted to remain will still feel that way deep down, but they've simply got to move on or the division will continue. Brexit good or bad needs putting to bed and im pretty sure some of the classic Labour heartlands now fallen to the conservatives will hold Boris to account, they dont mince their words in the North and long may that continue. He needs to deliver, thats the job, perform or fuck off is pretty much the rule. As for Labour, well, i think you've nailed it with the Cuba analogy. The likes of Corbyn (as much as i believe his heart is in the right place...ish) and McDonnell whom i really cant like, are just too extreme. They were encouraged by the likes of Momentum to let that flood out in to the manifesto whilst at the same time trying to play the non decisive fence sit play, and again the working class just dont like that sort of thing as it looks weak and sounds weird, i get that. Is there room for Momentum and radical socialism in the UK? Quite possibly as some people did indeed vote for that, but will it hold 'Brand Labour' back? most certainly. The only way i can see this working now is for those new socialist members, momentum, and any MP that way inclined, need to split off and form an upfront and honest Socialist party, put that on the tin as it were and then see how popular it becomes. Trying to hide within the Labour party and leverage that position wont work, it isn't and hasn't worked. Let Labour be Labour, let them appeal to the working class, that's what Labour are all about and i welcome it. But socialism should make their own stand alone in my view, split the party and go from there. For now i just hope people start working together, keep the government to account yes but stop this bitching and whining about Brexit, its done, lets all move to the next stage and try to make it work together. Im not a religious man really, but a wise fella once quoted a particular verse to me - Blessed are the peacemakers That kinda stuck, and you know what, thats exactly what we need right now, more peacemakers, not antagonists
Dianne's on it mate, just give the woman time, theres some big numbers to crunch and only 8 fingers and 2 thumbs
Watching bunter (adam boulton) on sky news and he's in that temporary studio on the green that overlooks parliament. Where once all the barriers were lined with eu flags and some bloke on a megaphone, nothing there this morning, no flags, no loud bloke, nothing.
