It's possible to love the nation but dislike the politicians that lead it, snp have no problem doing that with westminster but seem riled when it is returned
Blairs old seat of Sedgefield wet Blue with a large majority - thanks for your efforts in the run up to the vote Tony
When I was in Helensburgh last weekend I was talking to #1 son and some of his friends who were born/moved/live there and they were quite candid about the fact that they enjoy benefits that the rest of the UK doesn’t. But they also said that given the state of the oil industry etc that Sturgeon keeps banging on about, that they really have nothing to fall back on to support and pay for these benefits should Scotland break away from the union. It was their opinion that Scotland wanted to rejoin the EU simply to be subsidised from another source. I repeat.....This was was Scottish people (and other nationalities) who live there.
Never stops fekin raining there! My brother was based there in the Navy... Every time I visited him or called him it was pissing down!
Since #1 son moved there 2.5 years ago I’ve only seen the sunshine there once and that was at Easter time this year. It’s always lashing down!
Ha bloody ha........the oil industry in Scotland as you well know. helensburgh has fuck all apart from faslane going for it.
yip, 52% of the uk voted for brexit believing it would make things better. residents of scotland get the opposit of this pumped in to their lives 24/7 https://twitter.com/PhantomPower14/status/1205275699440967681
A lot of my friends from the NE work in oil and gas up there too. They have all been telling me over the past couple of years (and I’m only going on what they say), given they are in and out of work all the time that the oil industry is fucked. Now given your based in Aberdeen I’m guessing you’re in the oil and gas industry too.............are they lying?
It does make you wonder why the snp continually take part in U.K. elections, just to dismiss everyone of them?
can i just add, i dont know a single yes votor that expects a tax cut or expect to be wealthier over night.
People vote on NI for parties that wont represent them, weird. Nationalist's and repuicans have more mp's than Unionist however as said, not all represent. Big changes here. Demands for a unite Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland are being shouted quite loudly. Only a matter of time
The highlight of the nights result for me was Jo Swinson losing her seat and stepping down. Her "Primary School Teacher" attitude towards the public over Brexit really started to grip my sh!t.
Too many highlights. Swinson was the biggest GUFFAW of the night for me but... Umuna, Gauke, Grieve, Soubry, Gyimah ... one endorphin rush after another.
