British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  1. IS this post available in the Queen's English?
The reason for my recent request (previously supported by Fin) was to have all the Indy and Brexit posts in one place to allow easy digestion and where necessary, a response.
I couldn't be a moderator as I'd "moderate" quite a few on here. It looks like it takes the patience of a saint and the hide of a rhinoceros.
Control freak... may be.... but is that a bad thing, to like to have things done properly?
Cocktail barman.... now you've got me thinking.

  2. It appears you are able to understand my post quite well?

I find these political threads meander considerably, so it is not necessarially a benifit compressing them together, oftentimes the questions raised become lost due to volume - thus defeating the object of posing them.

If you'd like to moderate a few, its rather lucky for you its not an option. You might have found yourself moderated in a similar way! Still patience is a virtue so don't give up.

Lastly I think you know if you are a control freak and whether it is a good or bad thing in your case.

  6. Unless its the public voting for you to leave, in which case you might be made a Lord and keep your place in the Cabinet! Two time loser Zac Goldsmith to be elevated to House of Lords and will keep cabinet position – despite losing his seat in rge election. Got to hand it to these Eton boys they understand loyalty and cash.

Weird how unelected EU officials are replaced with unelected MPs sitting in the cabinet.

  8. if your memory goes back further than 9 years you will remember that Gordon Brown, the last labour mp had used the non mp, lords to cabinet route for Peter Mandleson to be the deputy prime minister and a handful of peers (such as Lord Myners, Lord Davies of Abersoch, Lady Vadera, and Lord Malloch-Brown) doing other powerful jobs in government.

It would seem once the labour mindset has had the erase history and complain the tories are doing something labour have done before, then like Maxwell's "this womans work", people convince themselves it never happened before, until others point out this womans work was by kate bush

  9. The sooner we get rid of elections, the better off we will all be.

  10. I was not living in the UK nine years ago.

Putting election rejects -MP & Mayoral- who are without any apparent special skills into the cabinet is distasteful regardless of which PM does it.

  12. I see the Ineos chemical plant in Seal Sands is set to close, with the loss of 220 jobs

Ineos job loss fear as Seal Sands plant faces closure https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-49920620

    How very odd.

I could have sworn that Ineos CEO Jim Ratcliffe was a Brexiter, and therefore someone who believed in investing in the future of the UK, rather than investing elsewhere.............

Maybe he hasn’t read the script.

  13. Maybe even the richest guy in the UK doesn't want to pay compensation for earthquakes and poisoned water supplies?

  14. I saw that report in October and he points out that the main product there is acrylonitrile and the environmental costs to keeping this production safe are now becoming so expensive that it is time to see if the site is viable given it would need a complete knock down and build again. Unlikely to be brexit related but more greta related

You do know it has nothing to do with fracking yes? :D

  15. Well the GBP lost all the gains it made since the election because the certainty business thought it had has been lost to today’s announcement which makes a WTO exit more likely

not my opinion, that’s the view of political experts and the markets
