Norton Deposit Info, It's Demise & It’s New Owners

  1. Strange that people have put their faith in what is slowly revealing itself to be a fairly toxic company.... They’re built to do about 200 miles per year, what’s the point....

  2. From my friends POV it was the exclusivity & the looks. He’s a wealthy guy & he wanted it but enough was finally enough. Talked to him yesterday about it & he’s looking at ordering a bespoke Arch now. This stuffs way outta my league!

  3. The shame of it for me is that the guys and girls on the tools are not toxic they are really nice people, knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I'm cautious about writing off a whole company based on 1 or 2 individuals, that can be changed.

To my mind the machines are absolutely stunning, I've been a Ducati fan boy for 20 years since I bought my first 748S but; I fancied something a little different and the exclusivity appealed.

£20K is not as crazy a number as it once was for 2 wheels and I liked the idea of supporting a British brand.

That said I'm not daft, patient but not daft, I won't part with a further penny until I see the V5 with my name on it and I have some reliability assurances. If that takes another year so be it.

  4. Bubble, same for me, except not sure my patience would last another year.
I keep putting off doing anything about it, so it might just sneak up on me before I realise though

  10. The compulsory strike off action in March was my Solicitor taking court action and the strike off action was part of the legal process for my case!

  11. Spoke to the guy on the stand at NEC. Jesus he was such an arsehole. I was being polite with him. My mate was going over to deck him, had to pull him back. All he did was touch the swing arm tig weld saying how good it was & the guy went ballistic. He said his wife had ditched him over the problems at work. Not feckin surprised. Really sorry for all the people who have ordered & are probably not going to get their bikes

  12. You spoke to Garner or a staff member?

  13. Sorry I don't know who the guy was. It was the only person there though.

  14. Edit just youtubed him & no it was not him. I spoke of the original engine being the Aprilia lump & he said yes we used that 1st to develop the frame. Then I said but aren't your V4 engines still a bit unreliable. That's when he started giving it to me big style.

  15. To be fair I feel for Garners Staff having to put up with all the problems that Garner has caused.Cant see why a staff members wife would leave him though!

  17. He was mumbling something about the Isle of man for next year. I gave up in the end & walked away as the guy was not making sense.

  18. Its a shame.
There aren't enough bikes out there to assess whether the engine is reliable or not, the only things in the public domain are what they did at the TT.
Personally if I had anything to do with it, I would be making a lot more noise about how deliveries are progressing, getting lots of miles on test mules, etc.
The fact they arent just adds to the speculation : unamused:

It sounds like the guy on the stand was out on his daily care in the community, having a rant at anyone that would listen
