A day of quiet reflection for me today, it’s the 21st anniversary of my mother passing away at the age of 69 from heart failure having suffered with a congenital defect that wasn’t diagnosed until she was 60. Another 6 days and it will be the anniversary of my father passing away, 2 short years after mum. Having been married for 50 years, he seemed to just decide enough was enough and passed away in his sleep in hospital. Andy
Thanks to @Cream_Revenge for his idea, this morning I have run a 4 gang socket up in the roof of the garage and attached my 3 trickle chargers. No more loose cables on the floor or ducking under/clambering over when walking between the bikes. Brilliantly simple idea. Oh, there’s a spare socket. Now what could I use that for??
Have a peaceful day Andy. My wife and I also suffered a bereavement on this day 27 years ago. We still get the odd card from our oldest friends every year.
I expect to get telt off for not tidying up, even after I've tidied up - and the most I get from Mrs Ex is a cuddle which is nice
Spare socket for a handy overhead light maybe. I'll be doing the same this week having had the same 'fuck me, that's a great idea' moment as you....
...and the crazy thing is that, when working as an apprentice, all air tools on a production line were hanging on spring-return thingies that kept tools off the bench and also meant that they couldn't be dropped. Doh!
This morning I have treated my main one piece leathers, my leather trousers and race boots to a lovely Renapur wax treatment in readiness for when I ride next. I then put the (non blowing up) washer on for the bedding and towels as SWMBO has gone Xmas shopping in Leeds. And then I bought SWMBO‘S final Xmas present on line, printed it off, finished wrapping them all and put them under the tree. I was going to wax my snowboard this afternoon but I have now scheduled it for after Xmas. This afternoon I will be doing the square root of fuck all.
I'm now getting off my (day-off-work) arse - been far too long on here - to post @portboy his Xmas pressie, get a doc appt for my buggered knee and go see my 93-yr-old mum who's bored out of her brains in her care home where she has to have help moving to do anything cos she lost all feeling/mobility in her legs 10yrs ago. Fuck this getting-old lark...
Just completed a small minor ceramic tile adjustment on that recent bathroom works, and reposted the junkmail back into the mail box,sod them
