  1. I'd like to check amd lube the exhaut valve as a precaution.

Could some one who has done this point me in the right direction as to where it is and bext method please.

Im running the standard cat with the Termi stubby carbon end can.

    Thanks

  2. Remove the internal butterfly, it will help get rid of that 'orrible dead spot at 2000-2300rpm.

  3. It's located just behind the metal cover of Termi. With bike running when you blip throttle you will see it but have to agree I would remove it.

  4. Cheers. Whats the advantage of removing it? It must be there for a reason surely.

  5. To pass the very low noise laws that came from Europe.
It takes time to open, is prone to failure / sticking / Rusting.
It's sole purpose is to reduce noise. It's the part that's responsible for that annoying drop/surge in power at around 2000-2200rpm.
Just my opinion of course...may contain nuts.

  6. Is there a how to on removal?

  7. Stupid exhaust valve.....waste of space and fuel! There should be some help....run a search in the forums!

  8. You can hack it off. But its part of the cat, which is an OEM part. May have issues later when it comes to selling it/voiding warranty etc.

Better solution is either get a decat bypass pipe or full Termi. If you could stretch, full dyno after the decat pipe.

  9. I will soon look into this. My plan is to drill out the spot welded screws that fasten the butterfly valve to the shaft and just take the butterfly out. Anyone tried this?

(The highlighted area in the picture has nothing to do with this, I just googled and found a picture)

  10. I think that's the way to do it. Whatever you do, you must leave the cable tensioned to the spring else you will get the "exhaust valve error" on the dash that wouldn't go away.

Decatting helps to save weight as well.
