Tyre wear, I'm certain, won't be an issue. Even the soft tyres were coming back from qualifying totally unmarked. What's ominous is that Marquez was still dropping his lap times when he switched to the harder tyres... The lap record will be set in the last laps, and unless Marquez has problems you can't see anyone else but him winning. Racecraft will put Jorge close, but Marquez ain't the sort of bloke to buckle under pressure.
MM is so different to whinger 27!! He has respect for other world champs and is happy to be on a factory bike and never ever whines on about the series and rules like a boeing 747 jet engine on take off! Well, PD is out of business and Rossi can go sell stuff... the way he sat there and then flipped through reminded me of Doohan in his haydays : wait for a couple of laps and then : bang... great maturity, skill and tenacity...
