Pics aren’t showing for me... Connecting a charger lead to the battery is a serious arse ache as the battery is in the swing arm and access is a pig. You can charge it using the diagnostic plug under the seat
Hi @Richard Oldfield, I have a set a folding short Passo levers sitting in my tool box left over from my Panigale but would not recomend you using those or similar unless you ride to and from home to the track. The Monster's pull is harder than a Panigale and you will regret your purchase. In a nut-shell: short Yes, folding No, unless you track. left mine on the bike, yours should be easy enough to do . Not ridden it since cleaning, so not sure how long they stay looking shiney .
Ref charging through the diagnostic as Monsterped mentioned above you’ll either need a charger supplied by Ducati which has the correct plug to fit the diagnostic (I got one “free” with my Scrambler) or you’ll need to buy an adapter lead to use an Oxford charger or the like, (the Ducati charger is very low amps so takes eons to charge the battery so not great if your in a rush), I bought an adapter lead and spliced a cigarette lighter socket onto it, that allows me to charge it with the Oxford charger using an Oxford male cigarette socket connector and also to charge my phone under the seat if I need to by putting an IPhone USB adapter in the cigarette lighter socket, hope that all makes sense!. PS only use the cigarette socket for low amperage charging (phones and the like) because the loom to the diagnostic isn’t designed to take high currents.
Did you not get an owners manual? Is yer search box missing? Btw buy a circular spanner for adjusting the chain tension,,,,,loads for sale if yer look. Not exactly circular but much easier to use. Way too many black bikes on here for my liking!!! Red is obviously the best colour Mine is a 2019 1200R and I’ve only owned it 6 or so months but I absolutely love it. Looks amazing and sounds even better. The following items are fitted to mine: Termi slip on with up map (has to be Termi IMHO) Evotech tail tidy, radiator guards (x3), levers, crash bungs, front fork protectors, rear peg blanks and exhaust hanger Oberon clutch slave DP carbon ignition cover, exhaust shield, rear hugger, swingarm cover and chain guard (bought from a member off here and lacquered for a gloss finish) Bar end mirrors (Ebay) with mirror blanks (£17 for two little anodised screws!!!) Keyless filler cap Bellypan (American import which I don't think you can get anymore?) For storing the bike in the garage I have the Abba stand skylift which is an awesome bit of kit. Pricey and heavy but well worth it. I also have a set of Constands rear paddock stand and under yoke stand for general maintenance and washing. I also have an original Ducati trickle charger and you plug that into the connector under the seat. I wanted to use and charge my phone on the bike so I had a USB charger fitted directly to the battery. The battery is behind the swingarm so I had a professional fit it for me!!! Never fitted the throttle spacers and I don't really feel like I need to tbh. Had the suspension set up to my weight and it rides so much better now. The front springs are very soft and I may upgrade these to stiffer springs in the future but I’ll see how I get on with it for now. Removing the rear wheel nut and/or adjusting the chain....I'd leave this to the mechanics!!! The rear wheel nut is tightened to a million Nm (do your research) and I found the best way was to give it a local specialist to do. Some like to do it there self and other don't, I fall in to the latter category! My only negatives of the bike so far are (and I’m splitting hairs here): Finding neutral is very clunky Still finding false neutral but this may be human error rather than mechanical error Dash is almost impossible to see in direct sunlight Happy riding brother and get some photos up. So not to annoy the neighbours and her Majesty @Ducbird you must include a bin in your photos!!!
have not got an R but I am having my M1200 exhaust ceramic coated satin black, increases exhaust gas flow and reduces exhaust surface temp by 15% also prevents discolouring and corrosion. will post pictures when back from the coaters and when fitted.
Hi all I have a M1200r in black, brilliant bike, throttle spacers, what are they and what do they do? Never heard of them before, but it looks like I need some!?
Some owners fit throttle spacers to take up the slack in the throttle action as they find it make the bike smoother to ride .
