Reliable weather sites?

  1. Following on from Pierres thread re wettest droughts, I remember that some of you guys'n'gals had suggestions for more reliable weather sites on the oldforumthatmustnotbenamed.

Not liking getting soaked when it's supposed to be dry, or missing the opportunity to ride my Ducati when it's dry, but supposed to be peeing down.

    Thanks!

  2. Hiya Jerry,

    BBC Weather : Scunthorpe

Last Friday I went out on my bike in the morning because it said on there it wouldn`t rain until 13:30hrs, started to rain at 2 ish, but...................
no way do I believe it was anything other than luck over skill, "even a broke ass clock is right twice a day"

I think a bit of seaweed or a pinecone or an achy knee is just as reliable a weather forecaster.
By the way, my knees, shoulder, back and neck all agree, a bit more rain. :upyeah:

  3. I use the iphone app weather pro, which is usually very good.

I'll try and find out where it picks up it's forecast from, as I'm sure it will just be a web based site.

    Anth

  4. Hey Pierre are you in Scunthorpe or just roundabout?

I stay part time in Brigg, you can blame the weather here on me as I brought my bike down here last month and it's been crap nearly every day since. :frown:

  5. Yep, a roundabout in "sunny" Scunny.
Its also my fault, I taxed my bike from 1st April, foolish.

  6. At least I'm not alone to shoulder the blame!

  7. +1 for metcheck, it's usually, more-often-than-not accurate.

I also use my knees, wrists, fingers and thumbs for predicting low-pressure fronts (which usually means "unsettled" weather).

  8. +1 metcheck

  9. Moon is reliable weather site. It's always no weather on that site. If not metcheck.

  10. Metcheck is pretty accurate: their website is broken half the time, but their iPhone App is reliable. The Police and Armed Forces use Metcheck.

  11. Or Accuweather

  12. I have met office app on iPhone
    Been quite accurate so far
Metcheck is good if you can access it
It is down alot of the time

  13. Always use Met Office (smartphone app & website) .... it's where the others get their info from 2nd hand anyway!

  14. .. and me - WHY DO WE DO IT!!??

  15. Agreed, but even so - the best bet in this country right now is to look out the window and seize any friggin opportunity. Otherwise - start building an ark.

  16. Try this, at least you can actually see if it is raining or not !!

    UK WEATHER WEBCAMS

  17. I use the WeatherPro app as well; usually very good (of course German) but occasionally it's wrong and it'll do a cheeky last minute update to catch you out!

  18. it's just been hideous today. Was supposed to be dry until the afternoon, but it's been dropping water out of the sky since this morning. Ugh.

  19. Maybe that means it might get better earlier tomorrow, it was supposed to rain all day, lets hope for an early let up
