This morning the green nuetral light started flashing in time with the indicator repeater lights on the dash. Everything else is working fine , 2012 bike with 3000 miles on the clock and getting better all the time. The bike still has a long warranty and if I need new set of clocks I'm sure the dealer will oblige. Anyone else had this happen ?
Sounds like a short in the dash - had the same myself. Replaced under warranty but mileage can't be reset on the new one - my dealer provided me with a letter stating mileage on the original
Mine had a dim constant neutral and mist. Dealer changed it over without question but you start again from zero miles. Out of warranty your looking at 800 quid so..........
Yes i have the same issue, its due to an earth fault on the PCB, as has been said before either live with it or will require new clocks, which will re-set your mileage to zero. Due to total incompetence of my local dealer SMC, Nelly at Cornerspeed is sorting mine out now
What really worries me about this is that they just replace the clocks with the same part number which means the chance of those clocks failing down the line is also high, not a good prospect at over £800!!! If so many bikes have had this issue then shouldn't a new part have been introduced?
Phoned dealer - twice - and was promised a call back straightaway. Of course I didn't get the promised calls. I'll give them till tomorrow then call the boss who lives in my village.
Howdo!! Clocks are similar to ST3 clocks - which are prone to water ingress, followed by shorting out the components (My indicator LED went). Split the clocks in half and use clear silicon sealant to prevent any moisture ingress. For dash repairs: Scorpio Electronics - Home They can also clone the dash to work with your bike, so if your out of warranty it maybe just as cheap to get a 2nd dash & clone. Cheers Pablo
Had a 2010 for close to 3 years. All weathers. Didn't cover it much outdoors. No probs with dash. Had an 848 for 2 years. Also no electrical problems.
Good info if you have the 620/1000/1100 Multi, but they were having a trouble with a 1200 here:smile:
Scorpio can do the 1200, but have to cut into the back of the clocks to access the board to allow the mileage to be fixed
Well, I am ready for the third dash...(one original and 2 times a new one) Lucky for me this is under warranty, but no need to say that I'm having doubts about the building quality of the parts. The MTS runs great, but the little technical issues are a pain in the stomach...:frown: I talked with the Ducati salesman of Ducati Holland on the motorbike fair in Holland and he knew about ALL the problems (except for the dash, that's a new issue) I had in the last 3 years and didn't even get a reaction he even care about this.
