  1. I think there is chat at a racing level that unless your SR 45 at full send going into T1 at Brands then your not gonna really feel the benefits.

  2. Which would be fair comment. My answer to that is I want to be a better track rider and hopefully by having the right tools, I will, with perseverance and tuition, achieve that. Andy

  3. Mate ditto.
I'm only in Inters mate myself Im piss poor.

  4. At the risk of being ridiculed - what is "SR 45"?

  5. Not sure what benefit you will get unless you are max everywhere like the top riders. Just like slicks vs cut tyres, As long as it doesn’t give false confidence so you end up over riding or forgetting you’re not Chas Davis ;) it’s your bike, it’s your money.

Would be interesting forum write up/blog thing as to what difference you find given your current inters pace.

  6. Any difference will be imagined I would imagine  - they don't fit to the frame do they, just to the flexible bodywork?

  7. Whilst personally I don't think they will do anything noticeable, 90% of track riding goes on in your head so if it gives you an extra bit of confidence it will make you faster.

  8. The big man himself. Scott Redding.

  9. His look bigger than Andy's (and I don't mean his balls) o_O

  10. His are the Ducati Corse wings which only fit the Corse fairing which attaches to the nose fairing not the side fairings. Andy

  11. Despite attaching to the fairing, the fixing is rigid and capable of transferring about 30kg of downforce to the forks on the race bike. The road going version attaches to the side fairing but is still a rigid fixing. Andy

  12. Via the m6 inserts..

  13. Happy to oblige, whichever way it goes :upyeah: Andy

  14. Wasn’t meaning to be rude mate. Apologies.

it’s just that even at wsbk/bsb level riders have stated they’re not sure if they notice any effect is all. X

I would however be interested to hear your feedback

  15. I disagree with whats been said. No one tries to argue that downforce on cars doesn't work after twenty years. Bikes are just way behind car tech.

Estimates quote 10kg of downforce when the bike is at 120mph for the GP bikes and the V4R has wings that are like the original (prefered before rule changes) ones on the GP bikes. Every single rider at a track will reach that speed and inters rider in particular are experts at taking the wrong line and over leaning the bike so that extra grip produced at the tyre could be the difference between staying upright and low siding into the gravel.

  17. Understand that Dave and you know I know aero as well.

So why do hardly any riders state they’ve noticed any difference ... and if they’re only getting a slight difference at the very edge of the envelope then that still begs the question is it worth it?

Redding was questioned a fair bit and he said he couldn’t tell you if it made any difference

  18. If it is sprung weight it is adding to then is it not just equating to extra breaking force (forgetting the flex of the bodywork of course) thus not saving the front end at all?
Cars are a totally different animal and cannot be compared...

  20. Can I get them in black, Noobie?!
And can you guarantee the downforce, or weight doesn't change when it rains, or they get wet another way! Haha
BTW if Scott Redding, and others can't tell if/how much wings work, how would any of us mere mortals? Whether people are 4 seconds a lap faster or in the next group up, whatever! Unless you are doing it as your day job, I'm not sure any opinion is that relevant. Do they look cool as fook, though? Hell, yeah!
