  6. I am currently uploading a clip from a brief ride tonight. It's taking bloody ages. Like 2 hours to upload a 5 minute clip. That doesn't seem right to me.

What editing software would you guys recommend? I've got a handle on how to use Movie Maker and I downloaded the GoPro software but couldn't figure out what to do with it so went back to Movie Maker. How do I upload in lower res so that it uploads faster?

I'll stick a link up once it is on YouTube. This was using my mate's Hero 3. I got an email saying mine should be here tomorrow or Wednesday.

    Cheers.

    Andy

  7. I think the HD 720 is newer than the Stealth and it seems to be available online for about the £130 mark too. I'm not sure of I'm right about the model lineup though.

There seems to be the Stealth, the HD720, the HD1080 and the Ghost 1080... I'm not 100% sure if the 720 is newer than the Stealth but what I read seemed to suggest that.

  8. Here's a link to my clip. Don't look too hard at the riding as it's a bit raggedy and it was blowing a gale last night - right across the road this clip is on. Good sound considering the weather though!

I've got a longer clip I'm going to edit and play with tonight.

Edit - this works find on YouTube but opening the link from my phone on Tapatalk results in no sound... Weird.

  11. Andy, thats great. Its got the sound of the motor and a good view. Where did you actually mount the camera and was it just using the onboard microphone?

  12. The sony has some good features phil but I am a little put off by the lack of a remote. I think the sony AS15 can be had for around £185?

  13. My mate Barron Von Grumble runs the Drift, you can also get a discount code from him to buy them.

As for Go Pro well :( bulky! looks stupid, new tech in age old housing!

  14. It was a little squint I think. I used the open back cover and the waterproof front. My one should hopefully arrive tomorrow but the mount I used is now attached to the bike so I just need to use the arm attachments to line it up better. Worked great using the iPhone app to preview the shot but it was hard doing it on the side stand so I ended up sitting on the bike in the garage holding the phone before leaving the house.

I've also seen these micovers on the net and YouTube. Only place I could get one from was here... http://store.micover.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=2 c£15 so I ordered this over the weekend and it's already on the way. Go on YouTube and search for gopro micover to see what it does or look at this and this . But my clip here was done without this just using the skeleton back door.

Here's how I mounted it. Would prefer to see a bit of the bike though. Thinking one that sees the front wheel is a good call. Maybe a roll bar mount to put it on the fork leg...?

  15. thats a neat mount but I think I would have a supplementary strap around the mirror incase it came loose lol

  16. its horses for courses..
I suppose you have to work out if where you are going to mount it will be inaccessible.
It has a big on off button.
what I intend to do is use mine in different situations such as on bike and also at the TT placing it in the grass verge and operate it via my phone to capture some action and change the settings etc.

you want to hurry up though - it will be winter soon lol

  17. Update...

    Mine arrived today!!

£199.99 from Photo Direct on eBay with free delivery. Ordered Friday lunchtime, arrived at my work today. I went down to the mail room to check if it was here just in case, as the tracking number they sent me wasn't working. And there it was - bonus!

Hopefully the mounts and case I ordered are at home when I get back.

I'm hoping to get out and try it again tonight but I'm playing squash with a mate so might be too worn out after that. It's a beautiful night up here though so I can see me taking another test run after tea.

  18. Aye, that's probably a good call! You can buy tethers for the camera, might be an idea...

  19. Looking forward to more clips andy. On the mounting question, i used to mount my bullet cam on the lower fairing giving a good shot of the road and also the front fork and wheel working. May be good to try but make sure its secure mate.
