As your vin falls within the range in the article, I’d say yes. However, you can easily check here, https://www.ducati.com/gb/en/service-maintenance/recall-campaign Andy
Yep.... it's on the list. Only issued today in the UK, so give you're dealer a bit of breathing space to get the parts sorted
Thanks guys...No big deal...it's winter here in the Chicago area so no real chance of riding probably until March or April next year, lol. I will trailer it up to my dealer sometime over the winter or just ride it up next Spring.
I had a phone call today from the bloke I sold my hypermotard to saying it had broken down due to the battery earth cable snapping. Told him That he should have received a letter about the recall as I did and told them It’s not mine anymore. It really isn’t my problem either way as I think he expected me to go get him or summit.. so hypermotard 950 owners make sure you get the recall done ASAP as the bikes only done 700 miles and it snapped
Good reminder I must book mine in... Funnily enough the battery cable on my 939 broke at around 3000 miles leaving me stranded at a pub in the middle of buttfuck nowhere
Gissa clue - which battery cable broke on your 939 so I can check mine just in case? Presumably it was one of the end fittings, not the actual cable??
Yeah it was one of the cable end fittings that ran from the battery to the starter relay at the relay end from memory. I fixed it myself but needed recovering home to do it, nice ride back in a truck after a few pints. Might have a picture somewhere....
Forgive my ignorance here but why even bother with the recall (maybe only to actually get the replacement cables) but just go with the superior aftermarket cables...? - If it was me id have done them as soon as id got it home from the showroom...
The recall on the 2019 Hyper does not replace the cable (it's the ground cable by the way). It basically only has the tech check the routing, possibly reposition a Ty-wrap or two and add some foam around the battery to reduce vibration.
