Was really impressed with Quickshifter fitted to the Panigale.... never ridden a bike with one fitted before.... anyone got one fitted to their Duke, if so what have you got and how do you find it ?
Not got one fitted to Ducati, but got one on my K1300s, have to say its the dog's danglie's every bike should come with one, up shifting through the gears is so quick and smooth,i never use the clutch (up shift only) at all, even low speeds around town, but it comes into its own element on rapid acceleration, mine was a factory fitted option Before i tried it i thought it was a bit of a gimmick, but i have to say i would not be without it now
Got one on the D16. Really like it once out of town and getting a move on. Have always gone for clutch less up shifts, but nice not to have to come off throttle
Ok so we've established a few have them - bit more detail ideally required boys.... What are they, where from, plug n play or professionally installed etc
Gav do you have PCIII or PCV fitted as they sell a plug and play upgrade for that? Other then that if it is a part officially made for 998 it will probably also be plug and play where you just link it to a loom probably around the ECU.
Check their website then as they have a quick shifter add on that you link to PCIII and obviously to your gear lever.
Gav check here, Linear shift sensor is I think it. Welcome to Power Commander Motorcycle Fuel Injection Tuning Module
Mines an HM, fitted by JHP forthe previous owner. Have got direct gearshift on the 998 ( so race shift), but not quickshifter
Hi 998gsb, I have the HM race pattern on the 853r. Its easy enough to install (and you have the pcIII) and easy enough to set up. I have my delay set at 70ms and sesitivity set at 60%. I have never had any problems with it in 3 years. The motor was split over the winter for a rebuild and the gear cluster was still in great condition. I have used it on the road (ok but just saves rolling of), race - great and makes clutctless chages even less tiring, no rolling off and sems to keep traction better in slippery condition. On the dyno it's a scary peice of kit to use, i tend to clutch and roll off on extended set up runs.
I have the HMQS race pattern on my GSXR1000, S4RS and 1098R. In fact, it gets put on all my bikes. HMQS (full Plus version) is the way to do it. Superb bit of kit.
