You can claim additional tax relief for genuine R&D costs. Not sure quite what is innovative about the bikes we have seen to date though. It's time the Company was put out of its misery. I think the chance of anyone now getting their money back from the Company now is less than zero.

A team of extremely talented and passionate people bringing these bikes to market. Neil Woodcock 2 reviews a month ago Nightmare. Customer service doesn't exist. I'm about to do "Small Claim Court" (MCOL) to get money back for what was promised as "Free Of Charge" work. If you want a Commando, I've got one for sale. Jamie Pearson 5 reviews 7 months ago Have cancelled a fully paid order and even though they have re-sold the bike and received the money they are not processing my refund because they want to use my money to help with short term cash flow issues! Interestingly, the @norton_ceo official Twitter account, that I was following, doesn't seem to exist any more! It has been "replaced" with @nortonceo which is a new account with no followers or tweets. It is also locked. Very odd behaviour.
Garner has his fingers in a lot of pies! If you do a factory tour, you can stay here, which is conveniently owned by him. http://www.thepriesthouse.co.uk/
I really hope that Norton pulls through for the sake of the employees and those that have paid deposits etc, and because their Newer bikes appear to be great machines (I did test ride a Dominator and it was a bit underwhelming but is just a revamp of the Commando), I’ve visited the factory a few times and the setup is poor by modern standards but I do hope against hope that they pull through, trouble is “good news” story’s seem a bit thin on the ground where Norton is concerned:/
McGuinness has signed for Quattro plant for the roads this year. https://www.bikesportnews.com/news/...oins-quattro-kawasaki-for-2020-roads-campaign
Joey Dunlop was still winning TTs (three of them) in 2000 at the age of 48; he just kept on racing until the end of his life. McGuiness is now 47 but perhaps he doesn't ever want to retire.
I've contacted Norton requesting a deposit refund, no reply as yet, the sales guy I was dealing with has left (I've lost count at this point) so I was told to email a lady called Kate Brown who I was told is the new sales manager. Meanwhile my credit card company tells me I have protection and are separately pursuing a line of enquiry.
If they cant pay the tax liability, I cant see any refunds being paid. If you read the Nirton accounts at Companies House, it says that Garner has also borrowed over £200k from the Company. Nice. That alone would have cost Norton another £70k in tax.
If the loan from the company to the director is not repaid within a certain time limit, I think within 9 months of FY end then the company has to pay tax on the loan to HMRC. Used to be the tax paid was refundable if/when the loan was repaid but don’t know if that’s still the case.
BTW the tax paid is at the current rate of corporation tax. HMRC takes a view the loan must have been paid from profits coz if you’re making a loss you’ve no money to make loans to directors have you .
