Some claim it can melt the clocks. I have never experienced it and neither have any of my mates or their mates mates or their mates etc etc. Basically, i have never heard of it but some have (allegedly). ( i now realise that my dash will melt on my next excursion)
Does happen, have seen it many times...BUT lets face it NO sun in the UK so what's the problem...lol Yeah sun shines, gets focused on clocks and BAMM... if your unlucky as I have seen the sun will track across the whole clock face.. Honda even include a sun visor for the clocks with the Honda double bubble screen as do Ermax. You need to be parked at such an angle to the sun etc etc etc, rare....but TRUE.... im getting rid of my slipper clutch as i miss the back wheel braking and going back to a standard one ,its done 4000 miles and it will not come with plates i have no idear what its worth but i will be selling it soon as i get a standard basket for it
I find engine braking far better with the slipper than std clutch, in that it just slows you down without gripping. I cant express what a revelation this was to me the first few rimes I rode it
I had a slipper clutch on my ZX6R but obviously it was an entirely different experience from riding a big twin.
Ok so maybe I have a sniff of humble pie , and say almost complete bollox Wouldn't stop me fitting me one though.
