  1. Croydon? How very dare you :)

No according to the news today go down the road to Lewisham is the most violent place in Britain !
Friday night I often spent checking out the car jacking and crashes on the South circular.
    It's fine living there !!
The flats all came with sound proofing as standard.
So we just closed the curtains and turn sterio up

  2. The ownership and use of handguns in the UK is prohibited.........that means clubs don't own them either, so you won't be using one in the UK unless you aren't a law abiding person.....

........how many speeding and parking tickets have you had?

  3. Good point .
Thinking about it my ex husbands hand guns ( he had a right to bear paws)
Had to be kept on military base and were only allowed on military base.
They where very hot on it.
They had to be kept at the base gun club and only be fired there.
He only owned them as it was his right to own them!!!

Even though in the states they kicked about the house in the Uk he had to keep them on " US governed soil" ie a US airbase.
You can kill zombies with loads of stuff :) see the game " Dead rising ".:) :)

  4. Or the film "Shaun of the Dead"

  5. Or watch 'The Walking Dead' and get a crossbow :)

  6. good shooting to be had in Afghanistan, moving target's and you dont have to stand em back up when you hit em.

  8. Luca, if you want to shoot on a regular basis you will need to join a club and basically you have a choice of air rifle/pistol, 12 Bore - clay pidgeon or target shooting with a rifle. The easiest will be the first option as you can buy a sub 12lb air rifle quite legally over the counter however make sure you are fully familiar with UK law relating to use of air powered weapons as if you should get nicked for mis-use the offence is treated as a firearms offence which is SERIOUS SHIT to be in (unless you happen to be a Chelsea footballer). As an example if you are shooting on a piece of land quite legally with permission from the landowner and your pellet strays outside the boundary onto a piece of land where you have no permission you are technically guilty of Trespass with firearm which could carry a custodial sentence, it dosn't matter that it was just a pellet and you didn't hit anyone or anything. Check out some of the airgun forums for more in depth info. For shotguns you'll need a certificate to own one which is not too difficult to get providing you are of good character and have a place to legitimately use it and a secure storage facility. A rifle , forget it. A Firearms Certificate will be next to impossible for you to obtain. As previously suggested you may be able to go along to somewhere like West London Shooting ground and shoot clays under supervision.

  10. Don't recall a pistol club in Ponders End, there used to be one around that time at the top of Enfield Town right next to the magistrates court.

  11. Luckily you don't have to prove where you are going to shoot if you want a Shotgun Certificate........Essex Shoooting Ground is pretty good....It's at Fyfield, Nr Chipping Ongar......Tuition available.....Clay shooting.

Alternatively if you know a farmer well, go and talk to hime about pigeon shooting; but it would be best to see if you can shoot first so go to the shooting grounds and bust some clays.

Also note....if you want to get a shotgun, take someone with who knows what they are talking about...... a shotgun has to fit you properly otherwise you will hit SFA.

  12. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Firearms Officer who carried out my home visit wanted quite a long chat about where I shot , how often etc. If you get permission to use land for shooting make sure you get it in writing and carry it with you when shooting, also get insurance BASC or similar. A shotgun that fits is a good start but it don't g/tee you'll hit much....... Trust me I know.

  13. Not interested in it long term just a day excursion. Honestly air rifles are for kids, have dozens in Poland. Clay shooting right.

Found one in Poland 45min from airport. Ticket from Luton both ways 85gbp so day excursion possible and they have this:

WEAPONS | CZAPLA - Range, Weapons, Store

  14. I'll see if I can work out where it was in Ponders End....

..............does Picketts Lock ring a bell?

  15. You probably haven't been ticketed as long as me....they never ask where I shoot............only really interested in security and if I have a brain.

......but I have been a BASC member since the early 70s.

    Neither does true cylinder

  16. Yes Picketts Lock opened when I was about 12 years old and I was a frequent visitor for many years. Held a ticket continuously since about 1987 with no problems so maybe just a nosey/chatty bloke, all went through ok with no delays or extra checks so who knows?
