Well, after selling my Hyperstrada on here a couple of months back, I've been on the lookout for a new bike. I knew exaclty what I wanted (or so I initially thought ) and after a little searching, it was delivered today. So the new Italian is......................... .an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory. After initially thinking I'd buy a 2015/16-ish bike, I saw the model had a big facelift for 2017 with the tft dash and electronics, and the more I looked into it, being the shallow kind of person I am, I had to have one of those. Obviously this was a little more money, but I know if I didn't buy what I wanted, I'd always be a little bit miffed that I didn't push the boat out at the time. So after scouring the t'interwebs for a month or so and getting Christmas out of the way, I found a 2017 bike with a little over 2,500 miles on it and out of the box new. It was obviously mint in the pictures, so I bought on spec without viewing in the flesh, the 1st time I've ever done this. The only downside is that I said I wanted a bike with an Akrapovic on it, which this didn't have, but after securing a discount on the deal, I've ordered one online. It's also my 1st ever bike with bungs. So freshly serviced and delivered today, here she is.
That's a dustbin placeholder, Harry. Rob'll put the proper exhaust on in a couple days. Rest of the bike is well hot.
I love the sound these make - very different to, yet somehow reminds me of '70s Aston Martin V8s - I think it's the purity of the sound they make.
Will the exhaust supplier be loading the race map for you? There’s quite a lively forum for Apes at AF1 in America. You can read all about the horror stories there (just as you can with Ducs on here). https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/forum.php
Rode one briefly when the MV was being serviced - found the flashing lights annoying and a bit weighty for my petit frame I just always think of this
Very nice Rob, a old mate of mine had one from new, i did have a little turn on it once and boy it was good lively fun however a tad too small for me been over 6'2 and 16st
Well i didn't expect that move Rob i thought you're going for a touring bike for attacking the european continents this season, anyway very nice & enjoy.
