Had a good couple of hours at Chill Factore in Manchester with my mates Darren and Mike. Also saw @Sambighair there with his wife and children. Which was nice Now home, stuff put away, made and had my tea and now watching the football
Made hotel reservations in Singapore and Hanoi for next month. Trying to work out what to see how to get there and how long to stay, on our way down Vietnam to Saigon.
Having the weekend with by oldest boy...we’ll man, he’s 21. Couple of hours at a place for people with autism run by his mum. Then nipped into DMC Preston to see if they had a V2 - not on display if they did and they were busy so I didn’t bother them when they could be making sales. On the way home there was some poor bugger sitting on a motorway bridge, the wrong side of the barrier with someone trying to talk them out of jumping. Police closed the M6, must’ve been one of the last cars through. All the traffic diverted through Lancaster. It was only one bridge away from where I saw a guy actually jump about 30 years ago - a car hit him, didn’t have a chance to avoid it.
Loads to see and do but try and fit in the tunnels at Cu Chi, literally. They have some widened out tunnels for tourists but if you're not too big you have the option of going down the deeper original tunnels which is a real experience.
Singapore Sling on the top deck of the Marina Bay Sands hotel, Singapore. The one that looks like a ship. Very cool.
Nursing a severely swollen elbow after yesterday’s fall. Contemplating which liquid anaesthetic to self prescribe tonight.
Fitted engine bars to the panzer. It’s tall, it’s heavy, it’s bound to happen at some point. So worth a bit of effort. and it was far more effort than I expected!
I liked Haiphong Bay, Hue (& Purple city), China Beach, Apocalypse Now Bar in Saigon & rooftop bar/ restaurant at the Rex hotel. The CIA offices aka US Embassy has been demolished, but the war museum is ghastly but worth seeing. Try to get down south to Vung Tau, where French colonial buildings and tropical paradise mix.
It makes you tired cos it’s exhausting just trying to function. When I got wiped out with Epstein Barr virus in 2008 it really fucked me up. I’m always doing something physically demanding as I like to keep as fit as possible and the trouble is that certain movements bring it on. Especially crashing my Mx bike ha ha. All the concussions I’ve had over life deffo made it worse though. the epley manoeuvre is always a winner when it’s just vestibular as lodging those pesky calcium crystals back in place is the key.
I could never get any benefit trying the Epley - seemed to make things worse if anything. The first time I had it proper it lasted 3-4 months when the docs said it should go in a couple of weeks tops. I was trying the manoeuvre on my own...next time I get a major flare up I'll get some help with it.
It takes some mastering but I can do it quite well now. The docs are good at doing it. I also have some pretty heavy anti psychotics to take if I can’t get shot of it and they just switch everything off in your brains movement sensing department
I got prescribed some psychotic drugs...I didn't get them though when I read up on the side effects. I've no prob taking stuff nasally from a plastic bag with no instructions on it though. I've seen docs fuck up so many things with family members.
Got the chain ferry from Poole to Studland and went for a walk along the coast to see Old Harry rock. Nice to be out in the sunshine. I took some doing to get the three bods to stand in the right place on the cliff
Been to ho chi minh, I was told hanoi is a nicer city. Have a good trip. Doubt you will need much spending money, certainly didn't when I was there
