Both outrageously overkill for road hoonage. But fairplay, who am I to tell people how to spend their dough. Neeeeeyowwwwmmmmm....
This would turn my head if I could pickup a used one for around £25k - definitely has a lot going for it and I still prefer the V-Twin - just not by 10k more than a V4S Corse!
What would the extra 12k miles do to the value of a Pani R? I always get the impression that miles kill the value of a collectible? Or do you reckon it would still hold value better based purely in rarity?
No more than either the FE or V4r. V4s’s are tanking. Use it and so long as it’s maintained correctly no worries. It’s only metal.
In comparison to the others mentioned in my opinion it would hold it's value better - the others would also surely have the same mileage
Yes, but I guess I would feel it somehow wrong to put miles on one of the truly rare ones - there’s something about a Pani R that would make me want to cosset it! I’d feel less guilty about using a V4S Corse on the road because there are more of them! Not good sense I know - but since when have these bike ever been separated from the heart!
I’m starting to imagine a bunch of you meeting at Stonehenge for some kind of dark rite of worship! The cult of ‘R’ You won’t rest until you have converted us all!
Pretty sure you can pick one up for an "Advertised price" of about 28K.. (may have been dreaming but sure I saw one advertised for that recently.. with very very low miles)..
I Had mine just before Xmas eve And more than happy with my direction... before I’m too old and all that I’m past the midlife crisis Point now... Hopefully this will be my last ever project Superbike.... Keep saying none of these bikes make sense in the real world but for me it’s not all about riding.... Plan is too loose a shed load of weight and massively improve on the package Who needs an R anyways Watch this space
Both would do the job handsomely well on the road or the track/collection,but it just comes down to personal taste / choice at the end of the day & i'd not be disappointed with either one.IMO
I was very much tempted at this before opting for the V4... With the full race system too.... Nom nom nom But more than I ever wanted to spend.... life savings gone
I am a massive V2 fan. So for me any V4 is not really of interest. I tend to by Rs but the V4R has the obnoxious wingage and looks like a chubby 1299, so with the V4 motor and aesthetic challenges, the V4R would be out I'm afraid. Not a big fan of the 1299FE either, but if I had to take one or the other and I couldn't have the Pani R I have now, then the 1299FE would probably be my choice. It would be stripped and on track straight away anyway.
