118 seat options

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Loverobot, Apr 25, 2013.

  1. 1198 seat options

Would like to change the seat for something that performs and looks better
Is for fast road use so comfort isnt really the issue
Have seen the DP one but it looks to wear v quickly?

Quite like the look of this -
Ducati 848 1098 1198 Carbon Series Complete Seat

Anyone seen it in the flesh?

Any other options that you can recommend?

  2. Loverobot, I guess you mean 1198?, I have the superpole seat, being tall gives my legs a little more room when seated and stops you sliding around when breaking a brilliant option in my humble opinion, I see Stretta is advertising one on this forum Maybe worth contacting him. Dementor has a pic of his on his thread, it was his I tried before being convinced.

  3. Doesnt it raise the seat quite a bit? I already suffer neck ache due to being hunched over and dont want to exacerbate that tbh?

  4. I like slippy seats so I can slide around and hang off if I get the chance.

  5. Tricky one to advise really, I found it better on my neck and arms because I wasn't constantly pushing all my body weight back under breaking, but it does raise the seat height by a good inch or 2 so my cause you more neck issues as you suggest.

    Sorry

  6. Toro - I kind of hover if that makes sense - looking for less slip under braking
Maccaa - I actually like the look of the superpole - might offer some hobnobs and see how it suits (or doesnt) lol - nope - its sold!

  7. The problem is not the seat tbh. Try gripping the tank with your knees as this will take the weight off your upper body and allow your arms to manage the handlebars better. Grip the tank with your knees and flap your elbows like a chicken...

  8. Hi spareparts, I did grip the tank when I was giving it "some welly" and it was much better but was still finding it tiring (or I'm just unfit!) when around town or pootling, the superpole stopped all that. Thats not to say I dont flap my elbows like a chicken, but that is, as you know, Ducati speak for checking your mirrors

  9. :D lol, that too!

  10. Has anyone bought from this site before there's some real good stuff on there, OZ piega's for £1300 seems cheap

  11. I've bought from Design Corse before. No issue what so ever.

  12. Spot on I could spend a fortune on there just need to win the lotto first

  13. I already have, and without the benefit of a lotto win. Just as well I can send the kids down the mine to pay for it all

  14. I need to get me some of these kids lol

  15. Prices on Design Corse website don't include VAT. You have to add the item to the basket and then it will give you a full price.

  16. Those Tamburini fuel caps looks stunning.

  17. Aha I thought that might be the case with the vat the seats do look good though also liking the tamburini levers with the 848 logo on

  18. I've got one of those on my shopping list for the next month :) They really are stunning.
