Led a ride-out for the Yeovilton branch of the RN MC through a bit of Somerset and Devon, and to Lyme Regis for a chin wag.
I was tidying up the garden when a gendarme, who had been talking to the neighbours over the road, came up my drive to ask me if they could use it to put a speed trap... There have been complaints, apparently, in the village (it is very small with no main roads) about people speeding and thus the gendarmerie have to show that they are doing something about it. Well, what can you say? So I said sure, you may hide your vehicle surreptitiously in my driveway to nab unsuspecting speeders. But I warned them that I didn't think they'd have much luck. I don't know who's been complaining, but people very rarely scoot along my street. Had my house been on a straight, outside a restricted limit, I'd have said no, but I slow down for the 30s, so it's in no way hypocritical. Gendarme said it is all laser technology now, no flash, which explains why my last two fines seem to have come out of the blue...

Been stood around doing diddly-squat most of the day. Had to get some work witnessed and approved (pressure test and vacuum test for the a/c boys here). That's good, I thought, I'll be away by 11 o'clock. Yeah, right. The guy with the tie finally showed his face at 5pm
Went for a jolly to Tescos on the 125 to grab some Pimms ( not for me ! ) Forgot to put my belt on my draggin jeans and my poxy jeans fell down .. So as I was riding they where sliding down like one of those kids... Sorry ippo for flashing my bum crack 2 full moons tonight! It gets worse I'm flying early so wanted a bath it's a bit hot in doors so I open the bathroom window . It's late both sides are in bed .. So I leant out the window to have a peek and let some air in .. To my horror there is me happy leaning out the window and there is next door but one happily sitting in the dark in the garden so I'm lit up like a Christmas tree!! Totally topless The only way I knew they were there was they spotted me!!!!!! I quickly hauled my boobs up two stories off the patio and slammed the window shut and hid in horror ( trust me it's not a good flash to see !!!!!).
5 hour ride around the lakes was nice till I nearly threw the bike down the road. Driving past a farm, road was a bit light, though it was foam or something run off from the farm maybe. Turned out to be so much hail that it had covered the road and settled, must have fallen a few mins before I'd got there. Accelerated, got nowhere, fishtailed and then realised what was going on. Went the next 2 miles at 4mph with my left foot a few cm off the floor, horrendous. Still, overall a good days riding.
