1985. Clip-ons, full fairing, endurance-style double headlights, foam mounted clocks, 4 into 1, weighed nothing. This was a revelation. I never had one but I wanted one.

It was really the Mk1 that I particularly liked. After that they no doubt improved it but there wasn’t the same amazing wow factor as when the bike first appeared.
Mines the rarest of the Mk1's (Single Seat / Dry Clutch / Magnesium bits) - only 300 made (+1000 Yoshi Coloured for the home market) late 1985 for the 1986 race season where they came 1st. 2nd. 3rd, 4th and 5th in the proddy TT
