Rare, desirable and expensive. How many people have seen a real one! Still the 1974 750SS greenframe. Henk!!!
I know about another one who did not survived. And there are more for sure. I have the fuel tank, seat unit, forks and yoke number plate of one. Henk!!!
1 of 20 produced by the factory for 1998 race season. The 748 Racing was loosely based on the 748sps homologation road bike, but were built by the Bologna factory using loads of parts from the early 916 racing parts catalog. Far from just a tricked up 748SPS these bikes have more in common with the more exotic 916 racing super bikes. This particular bike was supplied to a German dealer in November 1997 and raced by Klaus Mayerhofer in the German super sport championship. It then went through various hands eventually becoming a track bike in England. I made the purchase based on the expert advice of my esteemed Ducati colleague, Stuart.
My wife made me move them out of the unfinished kitchen area, so I moved all the unused building materials in there and my bikes returned to the coach house. Now she has to look out on Kingspan and Ply rather than a feast of Ducati.
Made in Italy have a fully restored one for £160.000 https://www.madeinitalymotorcycles.com/post/2018/08/16/ducati-750ss-1974
That one sold for £135K last year. The buyer has tried to flip it for £160K, but nobody is buying - it's too much. He must be hoping the market will puff up to his figure.
